Recent research findings into toxic corporate culture have shown that at least $212 million dollars of antidepressant use within Australia is accounted for by work-related stress. This rise parallels a slump in workplace productivity.
Our goal is to reverse this trend by providing workplaces with non-judgemental, inclusive chaplains. We deliver effective care in a non-discriminatory manner to employees of any religious background or denomination. From the CEO to managers to employees, we engage every employee equally at every level.

It’s a sad truth that each year, around 7,200 Australians are compensated for work-related mental health conditions, equating to around 6% of workers’ compensation claims. Mental health can be adversely affected by a number of things in the workplace, including: • high job demand • low job demand • poor support • poor workplace relationships • low role clarity • poor organisational change management • poor organisational justice • poor environmental conditions • remote or isolated work, and • violent or traumatic events. Corporate chaplains can alleviate these stresses and struggles in the workplace, through the simple act of talking things through.
The stigma attached to mental health can stop people from communicating clearly in the workplace, especially when troubled. Corporate chaplains provide a valuable opportunity for expression, and connection. Our trained and accredited chaplains meet one-on-one with employees for unmonitored conversations. Communication has always been an effective tool of professional support, and integral to early intervention.
Open-Plan Offices can be Stressful!
A new study from Bond University in Queensland has confirmed what we’ve long suspected: open-plan offices can be stressful! The researchers found that noise from an open-plan office caused a 25% rise in negative mood and a 34% increase in sweat response over a short, eight-minute period. Given that most employees can be in open-plan offices for closer to eight hours, it raises concerns about the mental wellness of modern workers.
A corporate chaplain can help relieve some of pressure of the modern workplace, simply by offering a safe space to step away from the stress, if only for a short time.
Connect With a Chaplain
As corporate chaplains, we’ve been privileged to participate in thousands of conversations over the years. The most memorable experiences are those that come from people appreciating the fact that we were there for them when they needed the support going through a tough time.
If you’ve ever felt lost or alone, you’ll know that the mere thought of knowing there was someone, a person, physically present, to have a chat with, can make a world of difference. Corporate chaplains can make that difference.
