Michael lives with an invisible disability, and his journey with the NDIS has been both challenging and rewarding. Invisible disabilities can often be misunderstood because their effects aren't always visible to others, they aren't immediately apparent. Yet, they impact daily life in profound ways. Ravi, our director, has a remarkable ability to understand and address the individual needs of each participant. His leadership and compassion guide us in delivering personalised support that makes a real difference.

We believe that everyone deserves to be seen and supported, even when their challenges aren't visible. Michael's story is a testament to the importance of empathy and tailored care. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŸ

It's the start of Learning Disability Week 2024! ๐ŸŒŸ It's crucial to help people overcome these challenges in a way that uplifts and empowers them. You may have heard of some of these learning disabilities. Dyslexia? Reading challenges. Having difficulty with numbers - Dyscalculia. ADHD and Autism are more widely known learning disabilities.

Effective strategies include Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), which tailor learning strategies to meet specific needs. Assistive technology, such as text-to-speech software, audiobooks, and graphic organizers, can also be incredibly helpful!

Specialized tutoring offers focused, one-on-one instruction in areas of difficulty, while behavioral therapy supports those with ADHD and Autism to improve social skills and behavior management. By understanding and addressing individual needs, we can create an environment where we can help everyone reach their full potential.. ๐Ÿ™

This is a story that will warm your hearts! โค๏ธFeatured recently in the Dandenong Star Journal, Sarah's story highlights the transformative power of tailored NDIS support. For 30 years, she felt abandoned by a system that couldn't meet her complex needs. But in the past 18 months, with Sunrise2Sunrise by her side, she hasn't been admitted to the hospital once. With the dedicated support of Ravi and our team at Sunrise2Sunrise, Sarah now enjoys a stable, 'family-like' home life, filled with joy and routine. She's now thriving โ€“ cooking, gardening, visiting church, and spending quality time with her parents.

๐Ÿ“Œ We encourage you to read the full story and see how impactful the right support can be. "Hey guys and ladies, I met with Laura on Friday morning we did some unpacking of boxes then went to salvos to donate some stuff then we went to the local shopping centre up the road and had coffee and scones, Laura asked me a question on how I have my scones. I said jam on bottom cream on top I said whyโ€™s that she said that is the Cornish way the cream on bottom and jam on top is the Devonshire way. I had the lovely Laura (England Laura) take me to my special Olympic bowling tournament on Sunday morning on the 5th may up in Geelong. We had a great day Laura cheering me on and taking photos but she did ask if she could take a photo on her phone to share with everyone in a group chat and I gave her my permission to take a photo. So I came first in my division on Sunday but I wasnโ€™t able to stay for presentation because we wouldnโ€™t have got home in time. So in my lane there was two Jacquiโ€™s so I was the jacqui that was bowling first. Thank you to John for organising Laura to take me to my tournament I had a great conversation with Laura on the Friday and on Sunday. My next tournament is Sunday 19th May at Zone Forest Hill. โ€” Regards, Jacqui Thomas"
