It's taken a while to get these 'up-and-happening' but they're finally available ... Introducing the free DARTA Digital Cards app. Haydn Kamencak, a student from St Peter’s College, Adelaide, contacted me in 2023 and suggested DARTA produce a resource that could be easily accessed by young people if something went wrong when out with their friends. We worked together to produce a series of digital cards covering how to look after a drunk friend, alcohol poisoning, vomiting and other issues.
Your teen can now download the app onto their phone providing them with some basic information about what to do if something goes wrong - just go to the following link: https://darta.net.au/digital-cards/

Stay on Course relapse prevention tool and Coping with Cravings.

If you’re a health practitioner who works with clients who may be thinking of cutting down or stopping their alcohol and/or other drug use, or if you are someone who is wanting to cut down on your alcohol and/ or other drug use or combat cravings, then these resources may be helpful!

The Queensland Government and the Insight Initiative have created some useful and interactive resources to help with craving urges and staying on track with changes to alcohol and/or other drug use.

The Stay on Course relapse prevention resource includes reasons for giving up, managing triggers, identifying supports, finding alternative activities.

The Coping with Cravings resource includes information about cravings, strategies for urge surfing, mindfulness, H.A.L.T. and many other suggestions for coping with cravings.

Was fantastic for CDAT NSW representatives to attend The Centre for Volunteering 2024 Volunteering NSW State Conference last week.

Chole and Lousie from the Southern Region, Tania from the Central Region and Program Manager, Gail enjoyed the incredibly diverse program and the chance to build knowledge and network.

Just some of the highlights included the following presentations:
🟡The Importance of Community Cultural Contribution of Volunteers, Aboriginal Heritage Office
🟡Why Work and Development Orders Work, Legal Aid
🟡Creativity in Engaging CALD Communities Volunteers, AASHA

Thank you to the organisers and everyone involved 👏
