Today, along with our new boatie (who will remain faceless) spent the morning at Lake Centenary, courtesy of NSW SES Temora. Our new boat cut a few laps alongside NSW SES Cootamundra and NSW SES Junee Unit, and we were able to get a few of our operators some practice in the new vessel.
Apologies for the angles of some of the photos, our photographer recently learnt about the dutch tilt…
Today the Wagga Wagga SES took part in an emergency services day, visiting our friends over at Little Wonders Early Educational Centre in Turvey Park and Estella.
The children had the opportunity to get up close and familiar with some of our vehicles and equipment.
A great time was had by all and it was fantastic to see how eager they all were to get involved.
Thanks for having us Little Wonders 😊

It’s the start of a new push for volunteers across all of NSW! We had the pleasure of hosting Jihad Dib MP and Dr Joe McGirr MP along with our Commissioner Carlene York for the start of the campaign.
If you’re thinking of helping your community and you don’t know where to start, come along to a training night and see what we do! And while you’re there we’ll give you an obligation free quote on your volunteering.
What a good way to start the year!
STOP PRESS Representatives of Wagga SES will also be in attendance on Sunday morning at the QUARRY along with their Unimog. Come along, check it out & chat informally about what they do and possible synergies between the SES and our Club.

This week at training we spent some time practising our skills in and on the water, as well as getting the pumping equipment out and sharpening up some digging skills. Keep an eye out on the Murrumbidgee River on Wednesday nights and you may see us floating along!
It was also good to get one of our members from Wagga Wagga Rescue Squad - VRA Rescue NSW out in the water with us, we do jobs together so it is good to practice together.

At training this week we hosted Karen, the NSW SES Wellbeing Coordinator!
She came all the way from Wollongong to tell us about her role and how she is able to assist us in our future endeavours, during both training and operations. She brought some pizza and we all had a great time (except for Michael who missed out on dinner 🫢).
Last night we had some good times practicing our boating skills out on Lake Albert along with NSW SES Junee Unit and NSW SES Coolamon Unit. Hopefully next time NSW SES Temora, NSW SES Cootamundra, and NSW SES The Rock Unit will be able to come along too!
