Why we choose high-strength steel over aluminium?

High-strength steel is ideal for heavy-duty trailer manufacturing due to its superior tensile strength and load-bearing capacity. It handles heavier loads without deformation and is more durable against impacts and stress. While aluminium is lighter, it requires thicker sections to match steel’s strength, negating weight savings. Aluminium is also prone to work hardening and has a lower fatigue endurance limit, increasing fracture risk. Steel is easier and more cost-effective to work with, making it a reliable long-term option.

Brian James Lockable Tow Hitch tips:

Check Tow Ball Size: Ensure the tow ball fits the hitch. If forced onto a too-large tow ball, you might need to drill out the lock or call a locksmith.

Level Surface: Ensure both car and trailer are level to avoid pressure on the hitch clip.

Lift and Hold: Lift the tow hitch handle before winding down the jockey wheel to lift the trailer off the tow ball.

Emergency Detach: Pull out the pin attaching the tow ball to the tow bar to drive away with the tow ball still locked in the hitch.

Last week we were very pleased to hand over a new Brian James T-Transporter trailer to a customer in Perth who will use it for moving around their range of Polaris ATVs and Goupil electric micro trucks.

These French-built two-seater trucks are just 1200mm wide, making them narrower than many quad bikes, and a perfect fit for the T-Transporter trailer!
