Things to think about with your squats

1. Engage your core as you approach the bar to lift

2. As you set up, lift your chest and roll your shoulders back
3. Maintain a neutral spine as you descend and return. You don't want to be arching your back.
4. As you return, push your entire foot into the ground for max stability

As you train, our coaches will support you with prompts to ensure you're lifting correctly. This helps you maximise your workout and avoids injury. Always check in with one of our coaches if something doesn't feel quite right!

Here's some reasons you might not be making the progress you want or feel you deserve in the gym.

1. Poor Technique: If you're going to do it, make sure you're doing it right. To get the full benefit of an exercise, you need to ensure your range of motion and muscle activation is spot on.
2. Inconsistent Training The all or nothing approach tends to trip people up time and time again. Consistency is always key when it comes to creating sustainable change - this also means giving a new routine the opportunity to do its magic.
3. Too much or Too Little Food What happens on the plate is almost more important than what happens in the gym. Sometimes, it just takes a small tweak in a diet to create a huge impact
4. Inadequate Sleep You're busy, we totally get it, but sleep needs to be a priority. While great sleep promotes muscle growth, poor sleep wreaks havoc with our hormones & increases insulin resistance.
5. Not training with enough intensity Whether you're doing a high or low intensity workout, you need to be pushing yourself in each session to see growth & development.
