North East Autoshop is currently looking for an experienced and qualified full time Automotive Mechanic to start immediately.
You must have your own tools and be able to work on a wide range of vehicles.
Our workshop is a near new well equipped facility.
To be considered for the position, the successful applicant must:
Hold a current manual driver’s license.
Have a high standard of workmanship.
Good work ethics and communication skills.
Able to work under pressure and unsupervised with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work within a team environment.
Air Conditioning License will be advantageous.
Hours are 8.30 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday. Above award wages. Overtime available.

CHANGE IS THE ONLY CONSTANT IN LIFE!
Hey everyone, some of you may know of the changes at North East Autoshop. In December 2022 my good friend and long-time employee, Anthony Carriera, has become the new owner and director of the workshop. After a successful 6 years, my wife and I have decided to change our lifestyle to better suit our family’s needs. As we all know kids grow up way too fast and the changes we have made will allow more quality time to be spent with them during these precious years. I hold much respect and gratitude for all of you great people who helped our business grow into what it is today. Wangaratta will forever be positively imprinted in my memories, and I have loved every minute of our time here. Thank you all very much for your support. Well done to Anthony for dedicating his time to perfecting his career. His passion for his chosen trade has driven him to the next level, keep supporting this young man as he has become an exceptional mechanic with a great attitude towards business ethics and, well life in general. Last but not least, my deepest thanks goes out the most awesome team of employees at North East Autoshop, you guys have always put in 100% and are the backbone of the company. I have loved working with all of you, and it has been very rewarding to be able to pass down my knowledge and experience to you and to have soaked in all the things I learnt from each of you. GOT TORQUE?
We recently completed an engine build and install on this very tidy VX SS Commodore, set up for everyday street driving.
Engine was built very strong, with forged pistons, strong valve train, all new internals as always, the camshaft and compression ratio we applied to this build has really complimented its intended purpose, torque is coming on very early and strong making it an absolute pleasure to drive on the street and the engine is very well mannered from idle right up until redline. Engine now has a very tuff idle and a great note on the road. Check out the dyno sheet- it is producing 500nm of torque to the wheels at just over 2300rpm- and peaks at 590nm at 4800rpm- that is one very broad torque delivery! With some intake mods we would see this improve even more.
The result is absolute perfection for the intended application.

IMMPRESSIVE POWER GAINS FOR CHRIS' VE SS UTE!!
We have just completed some quality upgrades to this VE SS ute, including a very nice Australian made Manta exhaust system with DiFilippo 4 into 1 headers, decked and CNC ported heads, healthy Crow cam, CHE rocker trunnion upgrade, and numerous other select engine upgrades.
Then we fitted a VCM over the radiator cold air intake and upgraded the clutch to suit the torque increase and driving application of this vehicle.
Once all upgrades completed to vehicle, it went to Luke at LS Tuning and Performance for the final tune, and this tuff SS ute now sounds and drives like it should, with our combination making 339KW (455HP) and 665NM to the wheels while retaining great drivability for the road, a very nice tuff idle and a great sound from the Manta system.

LANDCRUISER POWER AND BRAKE UPGRADES- MUCH BETTER THAN FACTORY- BRAKING, PERFORMANCE AND FUEL ECONOMY!!
We have been very busy lately providing our customers with quality options for improving their vehicles. Here is a few pics of a 79 series dual cab V8 turbo diesel Landcruiser.
This vehicle received a power upgrade, including a NPC 1300nm clutch kit, a Beaudesert Exhausts crossover pipe, a Berklee 3inch stainless steel performance exhaust system, HPD oil/air separator kit and some other supporting mods etc, then we had the ECU reprogrammed during live custom dyno tuning by North East Dyno Tuning, and the results are great, even though this vehicle is DPF restrictive, we still gained over 50% torque and over 30% horsepower at the wheels.
We also upgraded the braking system with a hydraulic booster instead of the factory vacuum unit, and replaced all the factory brake hoses to braided units- WOW, in standard form this vehicle stops from 100kmh in 97 meters, now it stops within 57 meters!!
This package has made this vehicle drive like it should, and also greatly improve fuel economy, it is now much better suited as a tow vehicle!! ( the upgraded clutch has also given it a lighter clutch pedal)
We performed similar upgrades to a new 200 series Landcruiser last week as well- it gained nearly 200nm torque to the wheels and also much better fuel economy, we also recalibrated the transmission control module to improve transmission operation as well.
