A previously unknown composition by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, dating back to his early teenage years, has been uncovered at a German library.

The piece, consisting of seven miniature movements for a string trio, was discovered in a copy made around 1780. It is believed to have been written in the mid to late 1760s, during Mozart's time as a renowned child prodigy.

The piece was recently performed for the first time in Salzburg and will have its German premiere in Leipzig this Saturday.
