A lot of the time, my customers don't have high-quality photos for me to use as reference images. These might be old and blurry photos or photos where the pet isn't looking at the camera. Sometimes, this is a blessing in disguise, though! I absolutely adore how this painting turned out, with this pup looking up into the sky. No matter what reference images I receive, I always manage to make it work.⁠

At lunchtime I bought a huge orange—⁠
The size of it made us all laugh.⁠
I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave—⁠
They got quarters and I had a half.⁠
⁠
And that orange, it made me so happy,⁠
As ordinary things often do⁠
Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park.⁠
This is peace and contentment. It’s new.⁠
⁠
The rest of the day was quite easy.⁠
I did all the jobs on my list⁠
And enjoyed them and had some time over.⁠
I love you. I’m glad I exist.⁠

About the Artist

Emma Crupi is a young artist based in the leafy green suburb of Eltham, just a short trip out of Melbourne in the North-East. Growing up in a town that holds Australia's oldest artists’ colony, Montsalvat, there was never a shortage of inspiration. Emma strengthened her creativity early on by practicing regularly and from a young age.

Starting early in her journey, Emma always strived to be a commercial, full-time artist. After graduating from a Bachelor in Fashion Business at RMIT, Emma passionately worked as a Product Developer for international brand, Typo (Cotton On) from 2017-2019. Leaving Typo in mid-2019 to pursue her goal of being a full-time artist.

Emma creates high quality hand-poured soy candles with decedent fragrances and original artworks on her products. Along with producing delicious, hand-made soy candles, Emma creates artworks with various mediums for a wide range of customers. From large colourfully painted portraits, to custom highly detailed pen drawings, Emma's versatile style has complimented many homes and satisfied customers over the years.
