It’s National Volunteer Week and this years theme is something for everyone.
Many people think of volunteering as doing something for free, for nothing, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Ask any volunteer why they do it, what they get out of it, and you’ll get a very different answer.
There’s SO MUCH that volunteers get from ‘working for free’ – from more confidence, acceptance, experience, skill development, encounters with people they wouldn’t normally meet, a purpose and a broader sense of the world, even better health.
And there really is something for everyone out there. Shout out to Volunteering Victoria and The Centre for Volunteering. for all their amazing work in the sector!
Are you wondering about joining the Benefolk Network?
