Prefer to be outside than indoors? In an outdoor therapy session, we take the conversation into nature. Our skilled psychologists will guide you through your therapy while walking alongside you, or simply while sitting in a park or by the beach.
For some of us, sitting in an office and talking about our challenges can be confronting and overwhelming. Walking alongside a psychologist can be less daunting and can help you feel more comfortable to talk openly.
How does it work?
We meet you at a pre-arranged location, and your counselling session happens while we go for a walk or find a place to sit. If we walk, you set the pace, and we can walk for as much or as little of the session as you like.
We can walk regardless of the weather, or find a covered area to sit and appreciate our surroundings if you prefer not to get wet.
Even though we are outdoors, your sessions remain private and confidential. Your psychologist will discuss this with you at your first session.

Holiday season can be a time to focus on the art of giving.
Neuroscience shows that when we give, we activate the pleasure centre of our brain - "the good" feeling.
Giving can improve physical health, reduce stress, and facilitates stronger social connections.
Giving can inspire others to do the same, creating a positive ripple effect in our communities.
Giving also doesn't have to be expensive or gift oriented; it can be free, in terms of giving some of our time, attention, connection, laughter, and compassion.

The new year is approaching which means it is important to plan for your appointments for 2024.

A reminder that if you wish to claim Medicare rebates for 2024, you will need to book an appointment with your GP and obtain a new referral regardless of how many sessions are left on your existing 2023 referral.
Our office will be closed from the 22nd of December 2023 until the 2nd of January 2024.
Holiday season is a time to reconnect with our loved ones. While this certainly can be uplifting and fulfilling, sometimes this connection can have a way of activating old patterns or dynamics that can drain our resources. So how do we set boundaries with our family to ensure we are filling our cups over the break too?
Some boundary setting tips:
*Space boundaries - letting our family members know we need some "me time" e.g. I need some down time so I am going to spend some time upstairs, and will come back once I have recharged
*Topic boundaries - letting our family members know what topics we do not want to engage in e.g. let's not discuss our political views during our lunch/dinner
*Time boundaries - letting our family members how much time we have to offer e.g. I cannot stay the night but we are really looking forward to dinner
*Consumption boundaries - letting our family members know our preferences e.g. I am not eating x right now but I appreciate you taking the time to make it
