The Bally Hotel Fishing Club is not just about catching the big ones; it's about making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. 🤝❤️

Each year, we donate money raised to causes in the community close to our hearts.

We had very special guests attend our August weigh in to receive some of these donations.

Marine Rescue Port Kembla Unit Commander Kevin Bradley was on hand to receive one of our regular donations to the crew that we are so grateful that has our backs when we are out on the water.

Vanessa from the Cancer Council also came along to receive our donation. She told us that one in two people are likely to be diagnosed with cancer, and that community donations such as ours, can make a difference.

And finally, we are so happy to be able to donate to DEBRA Australia (Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association) to support those bravely battling Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB is a rare genetic condition that causes the skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch. It's a painful and debilitating condition, and DEBRA Australia is on a mission to provide support, raise awareness, and fund research to find a cure. 🙏. EB Warrior Kye North and his family came along to receive our donation on DEBRA’s behalf, with Kye and his brother happy to show off some of the fish caught.

A beautiful weekend for this last weekend in winter! We had four fishos out on the water, all of whom had some good results, weighing in snapper, morwong, flathead, groper, leatherjackets, trevally - and even a flounder.

It’s a beautiful weekend to be out on the water or fishing off the beach! We are hearing that a good number of our members are fishing hard this weekend - so we are looking forward to an exciting weigh in tomorrow at The Balgownie Hotel from 12-1pm. New members welcome.

Boxing Day saw some of our members head out onto the water in St George’s basin as the fog lifted. Grant Bonner and Janine Donaldson caught half a dozen Bream before lunch!
