Grandpa's made some nice progress out the front after a fiddly & technical couple of days. Very hapy with the look so far.

Another little decking project for Grandpa. This time we're replacing the front step & covering the porch with Blackbutt to tie in with the new look deck out the back.

Here's another bespoke storage box - this time for all those loose items around Grandpa's pool. Nice & solid so will also double as a bench seat.

Blackbutt inside & out to match the recent deck reno. Stainless steel screws & hinges, adjustable leveling feet all 'round & a little gas strut to hold up the lid to keep the little ones safe.

Grandpa's been on the tools again. This time it's a bespoke balcony storage box - made to measure for a friend.

Beautiful blonde Australian hardwood, stainless steel hinges, gas strut to safely hold up the heavy lid, 6 adjustable feet to cope with patio drainage gradients & ample storage space for an apartments outdoor essentials. Solid enough for a bench seat to enjoy the view.

Would also be perfect around the pool to store kids toys, noodles etc.

Another little project from a while ago - gas struts installed to assist with the heavy lid of our pool pump enclosure. Safety retaining chain just in case the wind comes up :)

Grandpa's been busy again - latest little project ... outdoor table restoration. Replaced the weathered & split acacia top with some of the leftover blackbutt from the deck. Very nice.

Deck rebuild complete & it looks awesome after 2 coats of oil.

Decking project almost done. 2500ish screws in & the boards are now on, only cleaning & a couple of coats of oil to go.

Very happy with the look of the blackbutt.

After a few days of good weather the deck rebuild is progessing nicely.

After dodging the rain for most of the week after Easter, finally some consistent progress. Just had to crack the next box of screws.

Here's what the deck looks like after about 1300 screws :).

Grandpa's finally back on the tools.

A "small" project at that's been on the list for a while now - replacing the old treated pine decking with some nice Blackbutt.

Progress so far: popped off the old boards, a few minor joist repairs & revitalised the door to the pool pump enclosure.

Now to get on with the real business of laying down the decking boards.

Grandpa's latest creation ... an awesome walker chock full of chunky blocks.

After a month or more of doing Grandpa & Dad stuff I've finally managed to finish a bespoke micro picnic table for a friend at work who asked for a little table to take touring in their van.

It's nice & compact but still big enough for a couple of drinks & a plate of nibbles.

I really like the little magnets to stop the legs flapping around in transit.
