Have you got Instagram highlights?
I can admit that my highlights need a little bit of love - but yours don’t need to look like mine!
These highlights work for almost any industry and will help anyone who views your profile to understand AND trust your business.
Are you going to implement any of these?
Your social media marketing won’t work…
unless you have these 3 things!
Social media is inherently SOCIAL. Engagement on the platform is necessary to use the platform effectively.
If you engage with others, the next step is ensuring that they have a reason to engage back. That is why you need QUALITY CONTENT.
Your audience engaging with you is amazing, but to see this convert to profit you need a STRATEGY. Be present with a purpose on social media to see benefits.
If you put effort into these three areas in pursuit of a defined goal you will see results!
All of our social media packages target these three areas to provide our clients with results.

While TikTok and other platforms algorithms aren't exactly the same, they have similar goals and likely similar executions.

[Tips 👇🏼] So true and so frustrating 😅
There is no one-size fits all marketing solution for your business. This can be very frustrating when you take another businesses advice and it doesn’t work for you.
How to combat this:
1️⃣ Take inspiration or advice from businesses that are similar to yours
For example, a growth strategy that someone with 10,000 followers uses probably won’t work if you have 200 followers. Find a strategy for an account closer to 1,000.
2️⃣ Consider your analytics
Compare the advice you’re considering with your analytics. For example, if someone says to post shareable content to gain extra reach but you’re not getting much reach to start with, that strategy probably won’t work for you.
Do you have any extra tips? Let me know!
There are two big changes coming to Instagram & Facebook ⬇️
1️⃣ Reel bonuses
Creators now have the opportunity to monetise their content directly through Instagram & Facebook. Check your professional dashboard!
2️⃣ Facebook reels
Reels are launching on Facebook! This is US only at this stage.

My favourite LOL moment:
If you saw my post last week, I mentioned that TikTok has surpassed Youtube in average view time. Youtube was not happy with this and released a statement to remind everyone that their revenue is still larger than Netflix. It's okay Youtube - we know you're still relevant.
Which of these changes are you most excited about?
[Definitions 👇🏽] Do you know these common email marketing acronyms?
CTR = ratio of users who click on a specific link to the number of total users who view the email (or page, advertisement)
ESP = aservice that offers email marketing or bulk email services (e.g. MailChimp)
BTF = the sections of a website or email that someone has to scroll to see.
BR = the percentage of email addresses in your subscriber list that didn't receive your message because it was returned by a recipient mail server.
CPC = how much you pay per person to have them click your link. If it costs you $10 to send the email and 5 people click, CPC = $2
COI = also known as DOI (double opt-in) is when a subscriber confirms their subscription. After they enter their email usually this is done by sending a confirmation link for them to click.

“When you speak to everyone, you speak to no one” - Meredith Hill
How you speak to your customers should change depending on which customers you are targeting.
Which part of your customers journey are you currently targeting?
Awareness: people that are just discovering your brand.
Engagement: potential customers that are building their trust in your brand.
Conversion: people who make a purchase.
Retention: returning customers.
Advocacy: customers that publicly advocate for your brand leaving reviews and sharing your business with others.
[Definitions 👇🏽] Do you know these common business acronyms?
B2B = Something that is focused on a business to business relationship. This could be a B2B company, B2B marketing, B2B operations, etc.
B2C = Something that is focused on a business to customer relationship.
KPI = A Key Performance Indicator is something that can be measured and indicates performance. A KPI could be sales per month, # of leads generated, etc.
ROI = Return on Investment is a percentage that shows the efficiency/profitability of an investment. Calculate as ROI = return / cost to produce.
YTD = Year to Date is used when discussing progress. For example, "YTD we have generated $10,000 in sales"
MTD = Month to Date is used the same as YTD.
EOD = End of Day is commonly used to communicate when someone will do something by. For example, "I will finish stocktake by EOD".
Social media marketing is not synonymous with digital marketing…
Digital marketing is an umbrella term for:
- Social media marketing (SMM)
- Search engine marketing (SEM) - this includes pay per click advertising (PPC) and search engine optimisation (SEO)
- Website marketing
- Email marketing
- Mobile marketing
There is also affiliate marketing, content marketing, attraction marketing, and a plethora of other categories but the 5 above are a good place to start.
It can be very overwhelming, especially when there is still offline marketing (newspapers, TV, billboards) to consider. While some businesses are capable of managing marketing campaigns across multiple marketing channels, most small businesses pick a handful for a simpler (but still effective) marketing strategy.
What area of digital marketing is your favourite?
Do you need help in your business?

Do you have an amazing offer, but you're not making sales?
It could be because your customer doesn't understand how incredible your offer is!
When you are communicating the price of your offer, make a COMPARISON to either your competitors pricing or your regular pricing. Try the following:
• Place your regular price crossed out next to your new offer (in your graphics or copy)
• Give customers the option of both, for example:
1 cupcake for $4 or 6 cupcakes for $20
• Make a comparison to your competitors, for example:
“We offer the best quality baked goods in the business, at half the price!”
While I hope this helps you during lockdown, this strategy can be used at any time with any offer!
📌 Save this for when you are introducing your next amazing offer!
[Swipe 👉🏼 ] 1 BILLION people use Instagram every month 😮
The huge amount of reach that your business can have on Instagram is worthy of your business' presence alone, but the value of Instagram extends beyond its large user base.
When you compare these statistics to a standard customer journey the value of these numbers is really clear:
1️⃣ Awareness
This is the stage where your potential customer first discovers your business.
With 90% of users following a business account, Instagram is an excellent platform to engage customers at this first stage in their journey towards purchasing. Instagram users are willing to find and follow your business.
You can do this by:
• Following and engaging with potential customer accounts
• Using relevant hashtags
• Being featured on directory accounts
• Sending DMs (without being spammy)
2️⃣ Consideration
This is the stage where your potential customer begins to learn more and trust your business.
The statistic that 80% of people use Instagram to research products and services demonstrates the platform's value in the second stage of their journey towards purchasing. Customers WILL use your account to find the information they need to justify their purchase.
You can guide your potential customer towards purchasing by:
• Providing valuable content that demonstrates the quality of your work
• Engaging authentically to gain trust
• Sharing social proof (testimonials, thank you messages)
3️⃣ Conversion
When your potential customer converts and makes a purchase!
As a business with the primary goal of having leads convert to purchasers, whether a platform that you use can assist in the conversion process or not is key to deciding if you should be using it. Although, don't disregard the importance of the first two steps as they are necessary for your customer to reach this stage. The statistic that 50% of users visit a website to make a purchase after seeing a product or service demonstrates Instagram's ability to do so.
You can increase conversions by:
• Always having a CTA (call to action) on a post
• Having a relevant link in your bio that leads to purchases
• Demonstrating the value of your offer (I’ve got a post coming on one way to do this)
• Consistently posting (customers generally need to be exposed to your brand multiple times before they consider purchasing)
Why are you on Instagram? Do you have a business account on Instagram because 'everyone does' or because you're aware of its power?
Did you know that the recommended number of hashtags is different for each platform?
Instagram = approx. 11
Facebook = 1 - 2
LinkedIn = 3 - 5
Twitter = 1 - 2
Pinterest = up to 20
Tik Tok = 3 - 5
These are guidelines though, and you should include as many hashtags as what works for you. Just make sure they are relevant to your topic and target your audience 👈🏼 that’s the most important thing.
📌 Save this post for future reference when planning your posts!
Are you overwhelmed by all the content to consume?
I know I was. There were hundreds of promotional emails, countless freebies available, and a constant stream of new ideas on every social media site. At first, all the new ideas are exciting until you end up spending half your day sifting through them. It's especially frustrating when it's valuable information but you aren't at a stage to implement it.
If this is you, try these strategies to manage the chaos while making sure you don't miss the information that matters:
1️⃣ Have somewhere to brain dump RELEVANT information so you can come back and review with purpose.
You can save ideas within apps (like your Instagram saved folders) or externally - I like Google Keep. Then, when you are actively seeking information refer to the content you've saved.
2️⃣ Set up a label & filter for promotional emails
Similarly to the above, while the content may be valuable, you usually aren't ready to implement it when it comes up for you. Try setting up a folder you can direct emails to, or better yet, a filter to send them there automatically. Then, when you need the information you can search the folder and have it ready for you.
3️⃣ Follow people who constantly provide you relevant content
If someone's content no longer aligns with you or holds value, unfollow. Leave space for what IS valuable.
Do you have other strategies for avoiding content overload?

The struggle is real 😅
Utilising social media 'properly' for your business can be overwhelming and time-consuming. While the benefits of a strong social media presence can be worth the time investment when done effectively, it doesn't have to take up all of your time and energy.
If you’re spending half your day filming reels and writing captions, consider the following options:
1) Don't do it...
Every business is different, and your social media strategy should be too! You shouldn't feel compelled to do the same as others, especially if you don't have the time, energy or resources to do so. Prioritise the tasks that move the needle forward, rather than what works for others.
2) Outsource
Consider outsourcing the task if you don't have the time, knowledge, or patience for managing your social media but know that a strong social media presence will benefit your business.
If outsourcing is the option for you, I'd love to help you!
