Friday was 'Dress like a Farmer Day' to raise much needed funds for rural communities in need.The difficulties and hardships for farmers and their livestock caused by this drought will have ongoing ramifications for the affected communities.
Itree raised a HUGE $816 on Friday... and what's even better is that Coles have matched that amount! Thank you for all your generosity and making such an awesome effort everyone :)

NAIDOC Week 8-15 July 2018

Under the theme - Because of Her, We Can! - NAIDOC Week 2018 will be held nationally from Sunday 8 July and continue through to Sunday 15 July.

As pillars of our society, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have played – and continue to play - active and significant roles at the community, local, state and national levels.As leaders, trailblazers, politicians, activists and social change advocates, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women fought and continue to fight, for justice, equal rights, our rights to country, for law and justice, access to education, employment and to maintain and celebrate our culture, language, music and art.

They continue to influence as doctors, lawyers, teachers, electricians, chefs, nurses, architects, rangers, emergency and defence personnel, writers, volunteers, chief executive officers, actors, singer songwriters, journalists, entrepreneurs, media personalities, board members, accountants, academics, sporting icons and Olympians, the list goes on.

They are our mothers, our elders, our grandmothers, our aunties, our sisters and our daughters.

How DSS will link up state-based child protection systems

As we move forward with REACH, Itree is continuing on our journey to become a leader in protecting citizens and helping provide safer communities. The system we are building is helping to protect children at risk – a focus that we should be proud to be involved with.

No system currently alerts caseworkers to background information that may exist outside the state they are in, and while protocols exist for the transfer of child protection information, this relies on the agency being aware of the child having moved.

Because of the awesome effort of our Movember team and others who have participated across the globe, and the people who have donated and supported them, Movember will assist in reducing the number of men dying prematurely by 25%, by 2030.
Men experience worse longer-term health than women and die on average six years earlier. Prostate cancer rates will double in the next 15 years. Testicular cancer rates have already doubled in the last 50. Three quarters of suicides are men. Poor mental health leads to half a million men taking their own life every year. That’s one every minute.
Our fathers, partners, brothers, uncles and friends are facing this health crisis, so let’s encourage them to make a visit to the doctors for a check-up, or be there if they need to have a chat, or know where to get support if you are worried.
Well done to our team for making a difference!! You are brilliant!!
