Hey everyone! Weโ€™re excited to announce that our app, wristMT (Wrist Match Timer), which has been a trusted tool for target shooting sports on Garmin watches, is soon coming to Apple Watch!

However, we feel that the name wristMT no longer reflects the true purpose and use of the app. Initially, wristMT was one of three planned products, including desktopMT and rangeMT, which never got released. Now, we want a name that better represents the essence of our app in the target shooting community.

This is where YOU come in!

We are seeking your input to help us choose a new name for wristMT. Here are a couple of ideas weโ€™re considering:

- ShotClock
- ShootIT (with IT standing for Interval Timer)

But weโ€™d love to hear your suggestions! What do you think the app should be called? Drop your ideas in the comments below.

Thank you for being a part of our journey and helping us make this app even better for the shooting sports community. We can't wait to hear your creative ideas!

Happy shooting!

Launching wristMT 4.3.7: Double Tap Feature Enhances User Control
We are delighted to announce the rollout of wristMT version 4.3.7, which introduces a significant update for our PRO version users. Central to this release is the "Double Tap" feature, a new functionality crafted in direct response to user feedback highlighting the need for improved control over the touch-sensitive timer activation.

Born from User Feedback: The Double Tap Feature
Our users spoke, and we listened. The introduction of the Double Tap feature is a testament to our commitment to user-driven innovation. Many users reported inadvertent timer activations due to the sensitive touchscreen interface. In response, our team developed Double Tap, requiring users to tap twice to start the timer, effectively reducing unwanted triggers and enhancing precision.

Exclusive to PRO Version
The Double Tap feature is an exclusive benefit for wristMT PRO users, aligning with our goal to offer premium features that enhance the professional userโ€™s experience. This feature not only minimizes errors but also solidifies the PRO version's position as the go-to choice for users who require reliability and advanced functionality.

Seamless User Experience
The integration of Double Tap has been designed to be intuitive and unobtrusive. This feature is available only on devices with touchscreen capabilities, ensuring that it complements existing functionalities without complicating the user interface. Users can easily activate Double Tap by accessing the touch settings in the device's settings menu.

Updated Iconography
With Double Tap, weโ€™ve also introduced new iconography to help users recognize when touch and Double Tap are enabled. A new hand and finger icon appears on your device to indicate that touch functionality is active. When Double Tap is enabled, this icon updates to include the numeral "2," providing a clear and immediate visual cue that the feature is active.

Collaborative Development
This update reflects our ongoing dedication to responding to user input and enhancing our products accordingly. The development of Double Tap was driven by the real-world experiences and challenges shared by our user community. Itโ€™s through this collaborative process that we continue to refine our offerings and ensure they meet the needs and expectations of our users.

Inviting Feedback and Further Innovation
As we roll out wristMT 4.3.7, we encourage our PRO users to experience the benefits of the Double Tap feature. Your feedback is invaluable to us and plays a crucial role in future developments. We are eager to hear how this new feature improves your experience and what other enhancements you would like to see.

Thank you to all our users for your active participation and feedback that help us make wristMT better. We look forward to continuing our journey together, pushing the boundaries of what our technology can achieve. Stay tuned for more innovative features that respond to your needs and enhance your experience with wristMT.

Touch Screens:
Some users have been requesting enhancements to better handle touch screen devices and the false triggering they experience.

I've implemented some additional code in my test environment that allows users to enable a double tap feature. This requires the screen to be tapped twice or the select button to be pushed twice to control the timer (Sorry - it's not possible to differentiate between a screen tap and a button push and apply to screen taps only)

My question relates to how users would like to see this feature implemented. Should double tab be required for:-
1. Starting the timer only
2. Stopping the timer only
3. Starting & Stopping the timer
4. Or be configurable for start, stop or both

I think we've all been there (or at least hoping to get there one day)

** Introducing the New Komacha Feature in the wristMT App **

Weโ€™re pleased to bring a significant update to the wristMT timer app with the addition of the Komacha Feature. This new feature has been developed in response to a real-world scenario faced by Peter Komacha during the Australia National Service Pistol and WA1500 Shooting Championships.

Problem Solved: Peter encountered an issue where he failed to start his timer as the competition commenced, leading to a misalignment with the official match time. This common oversight can affect competitive performance, emphasizing the need for a more forgiving timing solution.

The Komacha Feature: With this update, users can now bypass the remaining time in PlusMode, allowing for an immediate transition to the match countdown. Activate this by pressing the Menu/Up button when the targets are presented. This ensures that your timer accurately reflects the match proceedings, even if initially forgotten.

Simplicity and Effectiveness: Introduced to our community and tested by users, the Komacha Feature has been praised for its straightforwardness and effectiveness. It offers a practical solution to a problem that many competitors face, ensuring no one is disadvantaged by a simple mistake.

Update and Feedback: We invite all users to update their wristMT app to benefit from the Komacha Feature. Your experience and feedback are invaluable as we continue to enhance our app to meet your needs.

*Whatโ€™s New in Version 4.3.6?*
In the world of technology, consistent improvement and updates are the keys to reliability and enhanced user experience. The latest update to our software, version 4.3.6, introduces a range of bug fixes and new features designed to streamline your experience and ensure smoother operation. Hereโ€™s a breakdown of whatโ€™s new and improved.

Enhanced Brightness Settings for AMOLED Devices
One of the standout improvements in this update is aimed at users with AMOLED devices. Weโ€™ve fixed a bug that now allows the backlight to turn on to 50% brightness when the time remaining is less than 15 seconds. This feature is particularly useful in low-light conditions, ensuring that users can still interact with their devices without any hassle.

Match Settings Sync Corrected
Previously, users experienced issues where matches remained visible on their watches even after being disabled from the settings. Version 4.3.6 addresses this inconsistency, ensuring that your settings are perfectly mirrored on your device, enhancing the personalization and efficiency of the interface.

Stability Improvements
The update also resolves a critical issue that caused the IQ app to crash unexpectedly. Users can now enjoy a more stable experience without interruptions.

GPS Functionality Restored
For those who rely on Activity Recording features, this update is particularly important. The restored GPS functionality now records your location only as long as necessary to obtain a reliable reading. This saves battery life whilst still ensuring that the match location in recorded in Garmin Connect.

Compliance Checks for Time Sequences
We have improved compliance checks for manually entered time sequences. This enhancement ensures that your entries are accurate and meet the required standards without additional input or correction, streamlining your interactions and saving time.

Introduction of The Komache Feature
A notable addition in this update is the Komache Feature. This new functionality allows users to skip PlusMode and jump straight to the timer countdown. Itโ€™s an invaluable tool for scenarios where a user forgets to start the timer as targets turn away, providing a seamless and forgiving user interface. Pushing the MENU/UP button during the PlusMode countdown will skip the remaining PlusMode time and jump straight to the match time sequence.

wristMT is well represented on the podium at the 2024 Australian National WA1500 and Service Pistol Championships. Congratulations to all and best of luck to those wristMT users competing over the final two days.

13/04/2024

Version 4.3.6 of wristMT will be released next week once the Australia Nationals have come to an end. The update will include some bug fixes but importantly a new feature dubbed by the wristMT user community present at the Nationals as the Komacha Feature. The Komacha feature is named after one of our favourite wristMT users who forgot to start the timer when the targets turned away and was completely out of sync for the series.

Pressing the UP button will skip the remaining PlusMode countdown time and jump straight into the match timer. This way the shooter has a second opportunity to resync the timer to the match start time by pressing the button when the targets turn to face.

Thanks for the inspiration Peter and the other wristMT users brainstorming ideas.

PlusMode updates are live.
Version 4.3.0 of wristMT PRO was released today which introduces some changes to the the PlusMode functionality. The previous PlusMode menu allowing the selection of PlusMode: Off, Plus3, or Plus7 has been replaced. Users can now select PlusMode Off, or a value between 1 and 10.

This will give users greater flexibility to tailor wristMT to local range operating conditions.

With the increased flexibility of additional PlusMode times comes some tradeoffs. In this case the two PlusMode icons showing whether Plus3 or Plus7 had been selected have been replaced on LE (Legacy Edition) versions with a clock and plus sign as shown below. Users will now need to look into the watch menu to verify the actual PlusMode value.

NOTE: Users should check their PlusMode value and any custom settings they may have as it's possible that this update will reset them to default values. Best find that out before you're standing on the firing line.

P.S. I managed to squeeze this update into the last available bytes of memory on older watches so it's also available to users of the LE (Legacy Edition) of wristMT.

10/02/2024

Plus Mode Enhancements:

A feature has been suggested to allow users to set a custom value for PlusMode. While we're always open to user input, this specific feature adds a customizable element to enhance your experience.

To gather insights, we're seeking your opinion on the acceptable range for this custom value. Starting at 1, we're interested in knowing what upper limit you find reasonable. Your feedback is crucial for us to make informed decisions about incorporating this feature into our application.

We appreciate your time and contribution to shaping our product. Please take a moment to share your thoughts on the desired upper limit for the custom value. Your input is valuable, and it helps us to better serve your preferences.

Thank you for your continued support.

And Ohh, this enhancement is looking like it will make it into wristMT LE as well :-)

09/02/2024

Dear WristMT Community,

We're excited to announce a significant update regarding the WristMT application โ€“ the introduction of two versions: WristMT PRO and WristMT Legacy Edition (LE).

WristMT PRO remains dedicated to continual improvement and innovation, receiving regular updates and new features. Our commitment to enhancing the user experience and introducing advanced functionalities will ensure it remains a leading wrist management solution.

Conversely, WristMT Legacy Edition (LE) is designed for users with specific hardware preferences. Going forward, the model of the wristwatch hardware will determine whether users receive WristMT PRO or WristMT LE. While LE will continue to receive essential bug fixes and security updates, it will no longer be developed for older hardware platforms with limited memory.

Despite these changes, there will be a single product available in the store for download, with the choice between WristMT PRO and WristMT LE determined by the model of the wristwatch hardware.

This strategic adaptation allows us to cater to diverse user preferences, ensuring that each version is optimized for the specific hardware it runs on. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to delivering an even more tailored wrist health solution for everyone.

Thank you for being part of the WristMT community!

We're reaching out to share important news regarding the future of the wristMT application on select Garmin devices. After careful consideration, we've made the decision to cease further development of wristMT on specific models, including Garmin Fenix 5 & 6, Forerunner 245, 645, 745, 935, and 945, as well as MARQ Adventurer, Athlete, Aviator, Captain, Commander, Driver, Expedition, Vivoactive 3, D2 Delta, and Descent.

The primary factor driving this decision is the limitation in available memory, preventing the addition of new features. While we bid farewell to future enhancements, Dugong Technology remains dedicated to providing ongoing support and addressing any bugs for wristMT on these legacy devices. ๐ฐ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐Œ๐“ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ฎ๐ž ๐ญ๐จ ๐›๐ž ๐š๐ฏ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฅ๐ž๐ ๐š๐œ๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐š๐ญ๐œ๐ก๐ž๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐†๐š๐ซ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง ๐€๐ฉ๐ฉ ๐’๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ž, ensuring users can still benefit from its existing features.

We believe in transparency, and it's important for you to understand the reasons behind this decision. As technology evolves, memory limitations on these specific Garmin models have reached a point where accommodating new features becomes impractical.

For users who seek the latest innovations, we encourage exploring newer Garmin devices that offer enhanced capabilities. While wristMT on legacy platforms won't see new features, we're excited about the potential for innovation on newer models.

We express our gratitude for your continued support and understanding. The wristMT community has been central to our journey, and we look forward to shaping the future together.

Thank you for being part of the Dugong Technology family.
