We had 4 days to start and finish this granny flat makeover in Thirroul, for an urgent accomodation situation.
In the 2 days prior, we re-prioritised work and organised a crack team of the trades we needed, including, handymen, painters, tiler, plumber, electrician, glass glazier and project manager. The results were amazing, thanks to a great team effort. Works we’re finished ahead of time and under budget. In the words of the client, “What should have been a stressful experience, became a wonderful memory.”
And now Phase 2 will be bringing the best out of the exterior. Oh what a blank canvas we will have. We'll be ready when the call comes.

We’ve been privileged to work with this wonderful couple over time, to transform their post war fibro cottage in to the grandest house in the street.

The latest edition of our transformation is this Hamptons style front fence with automatic gate. You cannot find another fence of this caliber in the area.

The fence has been constructed in aluminium and powder coated finish. It is therefore strong, offers security and best of all, it’s maintenance free!

We are proud to announce our first total bathroom makeover for the mobility impaired!

This bathroom is for a gentleman with stage 2 Alzheimer’s and a stroke recoverer. He just wants to be able to live his days in his own home.

So we totally stripped away the layers from the previous decades back to bare wall studs and sub-floor. And started again with thought, consideration and care, for who would be using this bathroom.

This work is humbling!

We recently completed a most satisfying deck area refurbishment project in Austinmer.

The project almost never went ahead, due to our client Belinda sadly passing away recently from illness.

However, one of Belinda’s final wishes was to undertake the project regardless, and to transform the neglected yet desirable space.

We are so glad to have taken part in fulfilling Belinda’s wishes and delivering her vision, and leaving this lasting legacy of work.

This experience is humbling.

Materials used on the project;

• Cabot's Aquadeck Exterior Decking Oil in Merbau (decking)

• Cabots Exterior Varnish in Teak (vertical posts)

From tired old exterior to WOW factor!

On this Woonona property we transformed the exterior to bring out the best.

1. new exterior house colours, inspired by our coastline (Dulux Miller Mood, Lexicon Half and Monument).

2. timber window frames to transform the frameless aluminium windows.

3. new exposed aggregate driveway.

4. a stylish 2 car carport.

5. Hampton’s style front fence with automatic gate, in powder coated aluminium slats and welded frame.

After many decades of wild weather conditions from the Pacific Ocean beating down on this Clifton miner's cottage, it's time for the team to remove and sympathetically replace all the weather damaged timbers of the rear veranda.

Timber Sleepers

Timber is also an eco-friendly option. New or recycled sleepers can be embedded into soil, mulch and rough concrete pads, and combined with gravel for a rugged, casual look. They create a pervious yet robust driveway.

At this Sydney home, Neil Mackenzie of Mackenzie Pronk Architects used 100-year-old timber sleepers on the driveway and as a “stepping stone” detail on the side access path. “What we like about them,” says Neil, “is the texture, colour, low (zero) maintenance, good stormwater solution (no run-off), and, with the stones, they never look messy, even when covered in leaves.”

Considerations

-Timber sleeper driveways can be cost-effective.
-They enable the driveway to be permeable from an aesthetic
and environmentally sustainable point of view. Stormwater run-
off is slowed with permeable ‘soft’ surfaces in comparison to
hard surfaces.
-Permeable driveways can help to retain significant trees on a
site that might otherwise have to be removed.
-The natural surface of timber sleepers may suit more rural
surroundings than a concrete driveway.

Today we took up the divine calling of St Elias to come and repair the timbers and recondition the the rail system and mechanisms on 10, 3 meter high heavy solid oak folding doors. When we arrived the doors weren't working and were off their track system, the hinges were damaged etc. Now the congregation can enjoy functioning doors once again! We now can add restoration of old church doors to our skill set!Thanks to St Elias for a smooth day to job completion. There is just something divine about this place 😇
