✔️ While observability tools are essential, there will be times when you need to rely on your intuition and experience. These moments can be critical, especially when tools fall short or provide incomplete data.
✔️ Always be on the lookout for patterns and trends in your work. As the company grows and the scope of your responsibilities expands, recognizing these patterns will help you anticipate and prevent potential issues.
✔️ Strive to make your life as SRE easier. If you are both an SRE and a developer, like our team at Tipalti, focus on developing tools and techniques to bridge any gaps in observability.
✔️ Try to automate everything you can. The more robust and self-recovering your system is, the better you will sleep at night.
🎯 What has been the biggest technical challenge you've faced working at Tipalti?
While most engineers focus on specific domains, as SREs, we are expected to understand the entire system architecture of our organization. The greatest challenge for me has been learning and comprehending this architecture to the point where I can effectively perform my tasks.
