Massage is an invitation for our body - and mind - to relax. Massage is “restorative” - meaning, we restore function to muscles, we restore movement to joints, we restore the body back to a state of being and feeling well. Or as close as we can get ☺️💆♀️
It’s so important to learn the language of your mind & body. To interpret the signals of when to rest and when to take action. Sometimes, we need to lace up our shoes, head out the door and go for a walk. Other times, we need to make a cuppa, pull up a chair and take a load off. In all cases, I encourage you to be kind to yourself, practice self compassion & know that if you didn’t get enough rest or enough activity today, you can try again tomorrow ☺️🥾
Healing your body will take more than just effort and consistency - it takes time, patience, investigation, support. It's a delicate balance between moving your body, resting your body and nourishing your body. This can look like massage therapy to help you nourish and recover. It might be a walk on sunny days to help you move and soak your body in sunshine. I love using essential oils in the clinic diffuser to create a nice atmosphere & help relax the mind 💆♀️ I generally diffuse eucalyptus & orange for a refreshing, relaxing scent. Deep Tissue massage targets tight, tense muscles with a heavy pressure to pe*****te deeper layers of muscle tissue. This is for when you have deep seated knots & tension and you need someone to really get in there! It's not the most relaxing style of massage, though I generally combine it with Swedish techniques to soothe & calm the muscles we've worked on. 💪 This style of massage creates a powerful sense of restoration to the body!
