You are inviting the community to join us for a casual bike ride from Yarram to Alberton and to enter the draw to win a very cool Jamis bike.
The ride will start at the Goods Shed at Yarram Tarra Trail Reserve and conclude at Gellion Street in Alberton, where the official opening will take place. Head off anytime between 1pm and 1:30pm. The bike ride is expected to take between 30 and 40 minutes and is open to all members of the public.
To enter the comp, you just need to stop along the trail between Yarram and Alberton at The Middle of Everywhere marquee, grab some jellybeans, and put your name in the draw - super easy!

Donât forget your bikes when coming to stay. With two rail trails to explore (Tarra Trail to Port Albert and The Great Southern Rail Trail to Welshpool and beyond). Plus a myriad of other tracks and trails through Tarra Valley and the Strzelekis.
Maybe even an amble through town to take in the Heesco Town Murals and other awesome street art. Yarram also boasts a handy skate park and pump track.
Road, Gravel, Mountain, BMX, Cruiser or old fashioned bone rattler, tracks and trails for all bikes.

Great News in time for weekend
After weeks of waiting to be told when the extension to the Great Southern Rail Trail from Welshpool to Alberton was going to be opened.... it appears, it was opened yesterday, June 7 with a media release just dropping into my inbox.
Extension of the Great Southern Rail Trail now open
The much anticipated 21km extension of the Great Southern Rail Trail between Welshpool and Alberton is now open, welcoming walkers, runners, cyclists, horse riders and people of all abilities to explore
Yesterday, (Thursday) Wellington Shire Council Mayor, Cr Ian Bye and South Gippsland Shire Council Mayor, Cr Clare Williams took to the trail to ride the extension, crossing the border between Welshpool and Alberton, commending both councils for their collaborative efforts to achieve the much-anticipated project.

Did you know - lighting a candle at easter is a tradition symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and spreading the joy of Easter?????
If you would like to have your own personal message on one of the lanterns we float on the water tomorrow night in , come to the marquee and for a gold coin donation we will give you your very own lantern. You can write a message on that lantern and then our team of "lantern floaters" will respectfully and safely, launch your lantern for you at approx 7.30-8pm.

Looks like we will have a cracker of an afternoon weather wise on Sunday for the in . 5.30pm start.
To help celebrate the and will be providing a free sausage sizzle in the park, free face painting, popcorn and family movie.
will be there selling coffee and will be there selling ice-cream as well.
Some seating will be provided but please remember to bring along something to sit on, something to keep you warm as the sun goes down and some bug spray (just in case).
If you can afford it a gold coin donation would be appreciated on the night.

Power to Yarram is now restored. We actually were never turned off. Bit frustrating but at least we got prepared for future events like this.

Unfortunately we will be impacted by tomorrowâs essential outage. We hope the power is switched on earlier than anticipated. We have limited back up power but many of our services will be out of order. We apologise to our Guests for any inconvenience but this is beyond our control.

Now thatâs an RV renovation! Not the typical van on a site but we are glad this magnificent piece of history called us home for a couple of nights whilst celebrated 100 years of the local Ambulance service last weekend.
