❕️ You may be eligible for a free influenza (flu) vaccine through the Australian Government's National Immunisation Program (NIP)

Eligible people include:
- Those aged 65 and older
- Pregnant women
- All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months or over
- People aged 6 months and older with medical conditions that put them at risk of complications from the flu
- Children 6mo to less than 5 years old

Whooping Cough is a highly infectious bacterial disease, with infection rates currently surging in children across Australia. It can cause: ⁠
- Severe bouts of coughing that can cause rib fractures and ruptures of small blood vessels⁠, coughing for up to 3 months⁠
- Pneumonia, seizures and brain damage in infants⁠

🛡️ How do I protect myself and my loved ones from Whooping Cough? ⁠
Vaccination is the best protection against this disease. The dTpa combination vaccine helps prevent diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (Whooping Cough).⁠

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who should get vaccinated?⁠
The National Immunisation Program (NIP) Schedule recommends:⁠
- Children have their vaccination at 2, 4, 6 and 18 months, and four years of age.⁠
- Adolescents have a booster dose at 12-13 years⁠
- Pregnant women are vaccinated between 20 and 32 weeks in each pregnancy⁠
- Adults who are in contact with infants less than 6 months old, or wish to reduce their likelihood of becoming ill, are vaccinated if they have not had the vaccine in the previous 10 years.⁠
