Although December is a month of holidays, we are continuing to work hard. Another scientific research project has been agreed, this time in cooperation with the Public Health institution in canton Sarajevo.

We planned, prepared and applied. Now we can start the realization! In the upcoming months, we will deal with genetic loci that are brought into genetic association with various diseases.

It is especially important to emphasize the support of the IUS Research and Development Center in strengthening of human resources and laboratory capacity.

A qualitative step forward in the expansion of scientific research cooperation was made by establishing direct cooperation with the Public health Institution, which provides a basis for the development and implementation of more complex scientific research activities in the field of human genetics and public health.

Iako je decembar mjesec praznika, mi vrijedno radimo. Dogovoren je jos jedan naucnoistrazivacki projekat, ovog p**a u saradnji sa Javnom ustanovom Domova Zdravlja u KS.

Planirali smo, spremili se i aplicirali. Sada mozemo krenuti u realizaciju. U narednim mjesecima cemo se baviti genskim lokusima koji se dovode u geneticku asocijaciju sa razlicitim oboljenjima.

Posebno je vazno istaci podrsku RDC-a u jacanju kadrovskog potencijala i laboratorijskog kapaciteta.

Kvalitetan iskorak u prosirenju naucnoistrazivacke saradnje napravljen je uspostavljanjem direktne saradnje sa JU DZ KS, cime se daje temelj za razvoj i realizaciju slozenijih naucnoistrazivackih aktivnosti u oblasti humane genetike i javnog zdravstva.

International University of Sarajevo offers a great possibility for undergraduate and graduate students to master the essential Molecular biology lab techniques. Today, one of our master students optimized the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) for the amplification of a specific gen of interest. The amplification results were checked with agarose gel electrophoresis.

IUS and the RDC officially opened a new Fabrication lab today. This project was fully supported and organized by TIKA. The official opening was done by the ambassador of Republic of Turkey, Mr. Haldun Koc, TIKA coordinator in BiH and IUS management, named as CEZERI Fabrication lab. The lab includes the most modern 3D and Laser cutting technology. IUS ius_rdc IUS Student & Career Center

Mechanical Engineering testing lab. Testing insulating materials. Specimens are made out of natural materials - straw, which is combined with natural binders (this case is made with plaster). The aim is to test the STRAW as an insulation material, in combination with natural binder materials.

RDC-GBE. Western blot is a technique used to identify a mixture of proteins, separated based on molecular weight, and thus by type, through gel electrophoresis. These results are then transferred to a membrane producing a band for each protein.
