Today marks the 29th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, in which at least 8,372 lives were lost, thousands were displaced and families and communities were devastated. This was the largest massacre in Europe since the Holocaust.

🔵🟢 Digital Security Workshop: Cybersecurity for Summer Vacations‼️💻🔒

Yesterday, in the small hall of the E-net Center of our Faculty, a workshop on Cybersecurity titled "Digital Security Workshop: Cybersecurity for Summer Vacations" was held for our students and staff by a full professor from the Department of Management and Information Technology, prof. dr. Kemal Kačapor.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of security in the digital world, tools and techniques that can make internet browsing safe, and the threats that daily target all users of browsers.

During the workshop, students actively participated in discussions about recognizing suspicious activities on the internet and protecting personal data. Our prof. dr. Kemal shared useful tips and techniques on how to protect oneself from cyber threats while enjoying a worry-free summer vacation.

We take this opportunity to thank our professor for the excellent lecture, as well as all the participants for their engagement and support in promoting a safer digital environment.

Univerzitet u Sarajevu - Ekonomski fakultet Teaching Staff Mobility 🔵🟢

Prof. dr. Merima Činjarević and Prof. dr. Ljiljan Veselinović visited the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). During the five-day stay, from June 10 to June 14, 2024, the professors participated in a series of academic and research activities. The aim of the visit was to continue the cooperation established between the members of the Department of Economics at WU and the Department of Microeconomics at SEBS. In addition to lectures, the professors had working meetings with the heads of the Research Institute Economics of Inequality and the Department for Evaluation and Quality. The exchange of ideas and the establishment of professional connections with members of the Department of Economics open up opportunities for future projects and scientific research work.

📢 Exciting news for our university! We had the honor of hosting Ms. Ineta Kristovska from Riga University as part of our Erasmus mobility program. 🇱🇻

🔵🟢Yesterday, a productive meeting was held with our esteemed guest, along with governor of the Central bank of Bosnia and Hercegovina and the Chair of the AACSB European Advisory Council (EAC) Prof. Jasmina Selimović, PhD; Prof. Amila Pilav-Velić PhD, Vice-dean for scientific research and Head of Center of Excellence (CoE) for Evaluation Policy Research at SEBS, Assistent Professor Tea Mioković- Polić PhD from SEBS Accreditation team and Prof. Hatidža Jahić PhD, Head of SEBS International office.

🌐The discussion centered around accreditation and the accreditation processes, with a special focus on AACSB.

🔵🟢 Univerzitet u Sarajevu - Ekonomski fakultet staff mobility: full professors prof. dr. Almira Arnaut Berilo and prof. dr. Aziz Šunje spent last week in Poland for the International staff week:

“We had the pleasure of taking part in the 3rd INTERNATIONAL STAFF WEEK with the theme Managing the Challenges of Academic Work in Times of Uncertainty. The event was hosted by the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. In several seminars focusing on Business Schools Engagement in Positive Societal Impact Activities and Biggest Challenges Facing Business Schools Today, we had the opportunity to familiarise ourselves with good practises and outstanding work of the host University. We also had the opportunity to introduce our Faculty and University, participate in discussions and meet with six other universities that also participated in this exchange. The historical/touristic aspect was not neglected either, as our hosts organised visits to the historical sights of Toruń and Gdańsk. All in all, an unforgettable experience that should lead to global networking within the academic community.”🎉

🗓 For the past two weeks, these bright young minds attended two courses (Cross-cultural management and Team management) led by 4 of our brilliant professors, prof.dr. Aziz Šunje, prof.dr. Emir Kurtić, prof.dr. Amra Kožo and prof.dr. Jasna Kovačević. 💡

🔵🟢 International Bridges: Our Professors at the University of Liechtenstein's International Staff Week

🇱🇮Embarking on a journey of knowledge exchange and cultural immersion SEBS’s three esteemed professors participated in the International Staff Training Week organized by the University of Liechtenstein in May 2024.

✨ The International Staff Training Week was marked by a dynamic blend of activities, including job shadowing, guided tours organized by Hilti and Therapeutic Pedagogical and engaging exchange sessions with university representatives spanning across continents, including Europe and Africa.

🌐 Our professors, Munira Šestić (Department of Management and Organization), Merima Činjarević (Department of Microeconomics) and Kemal Kačapor (Department of Management and Information Technologies) represented our institution with utmost dedication and enthusiasm throughout the week-long event. Their active involvement in various workshops, seminars, and discussions showcased not only their expertise but also their commitment to advancing academic excellence on a global scale.

🤝🏼 Beyond the academic discourse, our professors seized the opportunity to establish meaningful connections with fellow scholars, laying the groundwork for potential future collaborations and partnerships.

➡️During this week at the Univerzitet u Sarajevu - Ekonomski fakultet, the SEBS International Week was organized for the first time. A team led by the Vice-dean for International Cooperation, prof. dr. Emir Kurtić, created a program for 15 participants (teaching and non-teaching staff) from 7 countries and 12 universities.

➡️In addition to lectures, the visiting staff participated in the 6️⃣ Sarajevo Innovation Summit

SEBS is pleased to announce that Memorandum of cooperation with Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and EU4Energy was signed at the Sarajevo Innovation Summit to formalize our collaboration in the field of energy transition. This landmark agreement marks the beginning of an innovative partnership aimed at driving advancements in sustainable energy solutions.

✍🏻 The signing ceremony took place on May 15 at 12:30pm at Olympic Museum Sarajevo. The event also featured the official founding of the Sustainable Energy Transition Center, a dedicated center that will focus on research, development, and implementation of cutting-edge energy technologies and sustainability practices.
