🚨Long post alert!🚨

I have the best friends. One of my besties asked me months ago to make her a dress. I hadn't made a dress before (I don't think beach cover-ups count lol) and I was apprehensive because I know how labour-intensive and intricate it could be. But Matu kept telling me she knew I could do it.

Then she sent me a dress (swipe to see the inspo dress) and said that's what she wanted. So I went on my usual mission to find a pattern because I have never made anything without a pattern before. But I couldn't find one (for free). Again, Matu said, you don't need a pattern, you can do this.

So I started. I have made bikini tops before so the bust was not an issue but having to freestyle the bottom half of the dress only using measurements and without clear directions was a TASK! I doubted myself so many times. I unravelled and went again SEVERAL times. But I finished and delivered it.

Seeing her reaction made it all worth it and seeing her in my creation was even more rewarding.

So I present to you THE MATU DRESS! Thanks to all of you who have pushed me out of my comfort zone during my crochet journey. I'm realising that I'm capable of so much more than I think.

This is the favourite colour of Hop Hop that I've done so far. Every time I make one I ask myself why I haven't made one for myself. They're so cuddly!!

On Wednesday The Ellerslie School, where I work as a school counsellor, held an entrepreneurship extravaganza and it was my first time showing my products as a small business owner. It was a lot of work to prepare, lots of lost hours of sleep, but it was such a rewarding and fulfilling experience.
