Couple spoons in candle wood, great for cooking 😊

I know I've been pretty quiet on here recently, but that because I've taken on some other work. I'm still trying to figure out how to balance the two, my carving and a full time job. It's a challenge.
You can still catch me at Brighton Market this Saturday though 🙂

First couple spoons finished up in the Teak I was lucky to get last week. South American Teak is quite rare in Barbados, and it's even more rare to get some of the wood. I've only seen two trees in Barbados. I'm lucky that a big branch fell off one of those trees 😄

the little yellow and white flower is Rabbit Thistle/Bush and the other is Myamosee or River Tamarind. Pretty common sights around Barbados .

Got hold of an old camera and decided to start taking pics of the things I love. This here is my favourite wild flower. Can now identify it as Cyanthillium cinereum, thanks to Sean Carrington's book 'Wild Plants of Barbados'
I'd like to start highlight more plants of Barbados. Is that content you'd like to see here or on a separate page?

Decided to do something with some old pieces (from when this was just a hobby) that have been hanging around collecting dust. Can see the first spoons I carved in the top left hand corner 🙂

I know this post is a bit late, but been taking some time to reflect on the year past and think about how I want to move forward this year. Lookout for some changes, will be approaching things a bit different this year.

I'm back after some time off island. It was good to have some time away, but now ready to get back to work.
