Apple has officially revealed the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, which retain much of the design of the iPhone 13.

The iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch screen, while the 14 Plus has a 6.7-inch screen. According to reports, the 14 Plus model has the greatest battery life of any iPhone.

The previous year's A15 Bionic chipset is still available in both variants, with a 5-core GPU, 6-core CPU, and 16-core neural engine.

The iPhone 14's 12 MP main camera has a quicker aperture for improved motion freezing.

Nestle, the Swiss food giant, is launching KitKat V, a plant-based version of one of the world’s most popular chocolate bars, which began Friday with a rollout planned across 15 European countries including the United Kingdom.

Unlike the classic KitKat, the vegan version uses a rice-based formula as a milk substitute, as first revealed by Bloomberg News. It’s one of the biggest launches of a vegan alternative of a major confectionery brand and took two years to develop.

“We have four in 10 consumers saying they are interested to move to a more plant-based diet,” said Corinne Gabler, Nestle’s head of confectionery for Europe in an interview. “It could be a significant market in the confectionery area.”

The recent week has been a rollercoaster for both the Bangladeshi Debate Circuit and, by extension, the Asian Debate Circuit as a whole, as 2 veteran debaters from the BRAC University Debating Club (BUDC), under the Banner of BRAC A, reached the upper echelons of debating excellence by qualifying for the the finals of the World University Debating Championships (WUDC) 2022 in the Open Category; a feat that no team in South Asia has EVER achieved before.

From humble beginnings, these two continued to break boundaries, setting record after record, slowly putting Bangladesh on the map in terms of debating; and after having this championship belt evade them for so long; they have claimed it and proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they are the greatest debaters in the world.

For the first time, Bangladesh has reached the final of the World Universities Debating Championship 2022. A team named 'BRAC A' consisting of Sourodip Paul and Sajid Asbat Khandaker, 2 of the most talented Debaters from BRAC University Debate Club has reached the final of the WUDC 2022. Hats off to BRAC University for nurturing the talents of the nation.

This is the first time for any South Asian team to reach the final of WUDC. World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) is considered the biggest & the most prestigious stage for debaters and perhaps the world cup of Debating.

Integrated test operation of the country’s first metro rail will begin on October 1 with a view to launching the Mass Rapid Transit Line-6 or MRT-6 between Uttara and Agargaon in December this year.

The overall progress of MRT line-6 stands at 81.19% while the progress of part-1 between Uttara and Agargaon is 93.76%.

The prevailing power outages and the government’s plan to cut down power consumption by implementing different measures would not hamper the works, said officials, since it is categorized as an emergency service.

The 20.15km MRT-6 is the country’s first metro rail project, which is being built from the capital’s Uttara third phase to Motijheel at a cost of Tk22,000 crore. The project has been extended to Kamalapur.

Once completed, the metro rail will be able to carry 60,000 people per hour, reducing travel time from Uttara to Motijheel to less than an hour despite having to go through 16 stations. It now takes about two hours to travel the distance on a regular day.

রোববার কেনিয়ার পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব মোই লেমোশিরার নেতৃত্বে ১০ সদস্যের একটি প্রতিনিধি দল ঢাকায় পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের কর্মকর্তাদের সঙ্গে আলোচনার সময় এ প্রস্তাব দিয়েছে।

কেনিয়ার কর্মকর্তারা বলেছেন, বাংলাদেশ খাদ্য উৎপাদনের জন্য দেশটির বিস্তীর্ণ কৃষিজমির সদ্ব্যবহার করতে পারে।

বাংলাদেশ ইতোমধ্যে খাদ্য উৎপাদনে দক্ষতা অর্জন করেছে এবং এ ক্ষেত্রে ব্যাপক সাফল্য অর্জন করেছে বলেও উল্লেখ করেছেন তারা।

তারা কৃষি, আইটি, নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন এবং জাতিসংঘ শান্তি রক্ষার ক্ষেত্রে বাণিজ্য ও বিনিয়োগ বৃদ্ধি এবং জ্ঞান ও প্রশিক্ষণের বিনিময়ের বিষয়ে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেন।

ফরেন সার্ভিস একাডেমিতে দুই দেশের এই প্রথম ফরেন অফিস কনসালটেশনে বাংলাদেশের নেতৃত্ব দেন পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব (পূর্ব) মাশফি বিনতে শামস।

কেনিয়ার অতিরিক্ত সচিব লেমোশিরা বলেন, তাদের প্রস্তাবনা দুই দেশের মধ্যে সহযোগিতার নতুন ক্ষেত্র তৈরি করতে এবং বিদ্যমান সম্পর্ককে শক্তিশালী করতে সহায়তা করবে।

আলোচনায় চুক্তিভিত্তিক কৃষি, প্রযুক্তিজ্ঞান আদান-প্রদান, শিক্ষা, যুব সহযোগিতা, সুনীল অর্থনীতি, বিনিয়োগ কর্তৃপক্ষের মধ্যে সহযোগিতা এবং খাদ্য নিরাপত্তাসহ অন্যান্য ক্ষেত্রে সহযোগিতার বিষয়ে দুই পক্ষ সম্মত হয়।

আলোচনা শেষে পররাষ্ট্র সচিব মাসুদ বিন মোমেন এবং লেমোশিরা দ্বিপাক্ষিক রাজনৈতিক পরামর্শ এবং ফরেন সার্ভিস একাডেমির মধ্যে সহযোগিতার বিষয়ে সমঝোতা স্মারকে সই করেন।

On Sunday, the dollar rose to Tk105 in the kerb market. The price of the dollar was sold at Tk102.5 on Thursday. The rise was linked to the increasing demand for the dollar compared to its supply in the open market. Money exchanges in Motijheel, Paltan and Baitul Mokarram areas of the capital reported that they bought dollars at a rate of Tk103 to Tk104. The rate of currencies other than the dollar also increased. Saudi Riyal is being sold at Tk27.50 in the kerb market. Besides, the Indian rupee was sold at Tk1.30 which was Tk1.25 a week ago.

Deputy Speaker Adv Md Fazle Rabbi Miah has passed away at a hospital in the United States while undergoing treatment there. He was 76.

Fazle Rabbi, a member of the Bangladesh parliament, was admitted to Mount Sinai hospital in New York nine months ago for cancer treatment.

He passed away (22 July 2022) at 3:55pm (NY Time) at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York, said his daughter Fahima Rabbi Rita.
