Index Agro receives ICSB ‘National Award 2022’

Dhaka: The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) awarded Index Agro Industries Limited for the second consecutive year for outstanding corporate governance practices at the institutional level.
Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh handed over the 'ICSB National Award 2022’ to Index Agro Industries managing director Mahin Mazher at a function held on 14th October 2023 at Hotel Radisson Blue.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi was the chief guest. Among other guests, Chairman of Capital Market Stabilization Fund, Mohammad Nojibur Rahman was also present.

The 5th Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of Index Agro Industries Ltd. took place on the 20th of July 2023 and the meeting was presided by the Managing Director Mr. Mahin Mazher. The Shareholders of the company unanimously approved to use the unspent IPO fund of the company for using Building & Civil Construction works and setup necessary Machineries and Equipments in any project of the company in place of using respective projects as declared in the IPO prospectus.

X Ceramics Limited signs land allotment agreements with Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA)

X Ceramics Limited signs land allotment agreements with Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) to build factory in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar (BSMSN) for manufacturing ceramics tiles.
The agreement took place at the presence of BEZA Executive Chairman, Mr. Shaikh Yusuf Harun and Managing Director of X Ceramics Limited, Mr. Mahin Mazher at the BEZA conference room in the city on the 19th of July. Other Executive Members, General Managers and high officials of BEZA & XCL were also present at the ceremony.
X Ceramics Limited will build a ceramics factory on 20 acres of land in BSMSN. It will be a world class ceramics tiles manufacturing company. The factory will employ 1500 people.

Mr. Mahin Mazher, Chief Advisor, KK Foundation, Ms. Esha Mahin, Senior Advisor, KK Foundation along with their children visited shelter house program Joy Shokol Shishur to share the joy of Eid-ul Adha. The children who are away from their parents for so many reasons were overwhelmed by their presence as they consider and called Mr. Mahin as their ‘Baba’ (Father). Mr. Mazher spent an hour long quality time with the children and had a semiformal conversation with the elderly children regarding their study and career. It was a joyous occasion and certainly Mr. Mazher’s presence made the day as an exceptional one for the shelter house children.

A day long seminar has taken place on "Empowering Authorities Under Change management" for XIC HODs at a nearby hotel on 29th April 2023. XIC Additional Managing Director, Md. Mamunur Rashid FCMA has presided over the meeting.

World’s Poultry Science Association – Bangladesh Branch (WPSA-BB) and Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC) jointly organized the 12th International Poultry Show and Seminar – 2023. One of the most Pioneer and Public limited company in Agro Sector, INDEX AGRO INDUSTRIES LTD. shared its contribution to poultry sector in Bangladesh by participating in this show. The international seminar took place in Dhaka Regency Hotel and Resort, Dhaka, Bangladesh during 14 –15 March 2023. It was followed by the international poultry show held at the International Convention City Bashundhara, Dhaka, Bangladesh during 16 – 18 March 2023. Managing Director, Mahin Mazher attended the show and shared his thoughts with everyone involved in the event.

XCG has won 'Bangladesh Innovation Award 2023' on Best innovation- Product Development for innovating World's Most Durable Tiles Surface 'Stone Shield'. They also won the Best Process Innovation for Innovative Tiling Solutions which includes Stone Shield Tiles, Germi-Proof Tiles, Temp Control Tiles, Anti-Slip Tiles.

Sylhet Strikers has become the runners up of BPL 2023. It was a valiant performance to be able to achieve this result. Being the tittle sponsor, XCG was with the SS throughout the tournament.

Mahin Mazher, managing director of 'X Ceramics Group', a concern of 'X Index Companies' and Sarwar Chowdhury, chairman of 'Future Sports' of 'Sylhet Strikers' at Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) made an agreement on XCG (X Ceramics Group) becoming the tittle sponsor of 'SS' (Sylhet Strikers) for three years. Mahin Mazher also happens to be one of the directors of Sylhet Strikers.

Chief guest, Salman F Rahman MP, an advisor to Honorable Prime Minister handed over the ‘ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence 2021’ to Index Agro Industries Managing Director, Mahin Mazher at a function held recently.

The institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) honored Index Agro Industries for practicing ‘good governance’ at the institutional level. Commerce minister, Tipu Munshi handed over the ‘ICMAB Best Corporate Award 2021’ to Index Agro Industries Managing Director, Mahin Mazher a function organized at the five-star hotel in Dhaka recently.

Mr. Mazher said that ‘The growth of a business organization depends on good corporate governance and this award of ICMAB will be the recognition of the capabilities of all institutions of the group and will be the path for the future.’

X Ceramics Group won gold awards in three categories- visitor attraction, hall and pavilion presentation- at the Bangladesh Ceramics Expo in Dhaka recently. Mahin Mazher, Managing Director of XCG, received an award from Salman F Rahman, private industry and investment advisor to the Prime Minister.

“Skilled workforce trained by XCG are behind this success who maintain international standards in products and services” Mr. Mazher said.

The Kamrunnesa Khatun Foundation (KKF) is an independent nonprofit charity, committed to bringing about better lives for the disadvantaged people in Bangladesh. The Foundation’s social welfare and humanitarian journey started in 2011, in commemoration of the noble deeds of Ms. Kamrunnesa Khatun.

SHELTER HOUSE -The establishment of a shelter house became a necessity when 80 orphan kids were thrown into the street because of a lack of funds from another aid firm. Mr. Mahin Mazher stepped forward and established “Joy- for all children” a shelter house dedicated to children from 1 yrs to 18 yrs old.
FOLON- Entrepreneur Development in both the agriculture and poultry sector through Folon (70+Farmers) and Khamarir Hashi (200+Poultry) Projects.
TRAINING AND WORKSHOPS- Capacity Development through technical, vocational and professional training and workshops. To date, more than 350 people have been trained through various training programs and workshops enabling them to get better jobs.
HEALTH SUPPORT- every month approximately 25 to 30 persons receive financial support for health-related issues.
KKF EDUCATION - KKF is contributing to the non-formal and formal education for the underprivileged and destitute children through self-published and government-acknowledged reading materials. . To date, almost 800 children have received this support.
EMERGENCY RELIEF- During floods, cyclones and other natural calamities KKF works in all over 59 districts and 323 villages of Bangladesh. More than 17000 families and 85000 people were served from KKF.
COVID-19 PANDEMIC - Special short and long-term relief distribution and comprehensive program for Pandemic (Covid 19) affected families has continued. Until now more than 500,000+ people received 7 to 15 days' worth of complete meals delivered to people; especially during the time of lock-downs by the government.

During the late 90s, Mazher also decided to explore a few ventures in Bangladesh. In the real estate sector, he initiated the concept of small affordable housing “Smart Building” for middle-income people. He simultaneously got involved in the Agro sector by starting a Poultry Breeding business for women entrepreneurs, which helped make their day-old-chicks distribution a success. Later, he turned this into a big commercial success by setting up one of the largest Feed-mill manufacturing plants in Bangladesh, thus creating job opportunities. Multiple Breeder firms and hatcheries were also established all around the country. Recently, the company moved ahead with the Initial Public Offering (IPO) through Index Agro Industries Ltd (IAIL).

In 2009, Mahin Mazher entered the ceramic tiles sector in Bangladesh through a joint venture with 𝗗𝗿. 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗮 𝗦.𝗽.𝗔, 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆. Capitalizing on sophistication and his artistic mind, he worked closely with Dr. Manali during the early years in Italy. He learned the technology by unpacking the secrets of the industry. Within a few years, in an effort to replace high-class imported European tiles, two of his companies, 𝗫 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗟𝘁𝗱. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗕𝗗. 𝗟𝘁𝗱., became the top players in the industry. This growth transferred a lot of foreign earnings back to Bangladesh and eventually helped Bangladesh to be self-sufficient in the ceramic tiles sector. Currently, they are the largest producer of ceramic tiles, producing approximately over 700,000 sq. feet per day, which can cover 13 football fields size of carpets area.

𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓, 𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐍𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐘 & 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒
Access to quality capital and the right network is a challenge for entrepreneurs, especially in Bangladesh. Executing a category-defining idea with the right team can be unfathomable in the early stages of a company. He is currently supporting the incubation of about half a dozen such technology-based start-up ventures through his recently developed company BlueBees Limited. Through BlueBees, he aims to extend his support to thousands of small, medium, and large business organizations around the globe, primarily in developing and least-developed countries. The core focus is to have a complete technology-driven business ecosystem within the reach of every entrepreneur.
