The project was thought provoking and started a much needed conversation surrounding religion.

The holy month of Ramadan is here!

Ramadan is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, spiritual growth and empathy for those less fortunate. During this month, they fast from dawn until sunset, abstaining from food and drinks. The fast is broken each evening with a meal called iftar, often shared with family and friends.

Ramadan is concluded with a joyous celebration of Eid al-fitr, a festive day full of feasting, unity and gratitude. People exchange greetings and good wishes, visit family and friends, and enjoy festive meals together.

Despite this environment, not everyone is fortunate enough to enjoy such celebrations in the same manner as we do. Many individuals and families struggle to meet their basic needs such as affording iftaar meals every day during Ramadan, let alone afford special foods, clothes, and gifts associated with Eid celebrations.

With the goal to bring joy and support, YES Alumni Bangladesh is back with its annual Project Ramadan to make this month and Eid a bit sweeter for children in two orphanages of Chittagong. We aim to raise funds to host an empowerment workshop and provide iftaar, clothes and giftbags for 240 children.

Let us seize the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of these children.

The application deadline for the YES Program 2024-2025 has been extended till 4 p.m. of November 19 2023, Sunday.

If you want to experience life in America for one academic year and represent your culture on a global scale, then this program is for you!

The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program provides a scholarship opportunity for high school students to live with an American Family and study in an American High School.

If your date of birth is between August 15 2007 to August 15 2009 and are currently enrolled in grades 8. 9, 10, or 11, you are eligible to apply!
