রাউটার কত ওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ খরচ করে ? বিস্তারিত জেনে নিন ।

আমাদের বাসাবাড়িতে সারাদিন চলতে থাকা রাউটার কতটুকু বিদ্যুৎ খরচ করে, এমন প্রশ্ন আমাদের অনেকের মনেই ঘুরপাক খায় । অনেকে রাউটারের এডাপ্টারের আউটপুট ভোল্ট আর অ্যাম্পিয়ার গুণ করে অনেক সময় ওয়াটেজ এর হিসেব বের করেন, আসলে তা পুরোপুরি সঠিক নয় । কারণ ওভাবে হিসেব করলে আপনি রাউটার এর এডাপ্টার থেকে সর্বোচ্চ কত ওয়াট আউটপুট পাবেন, সেটা জানতে পারবেন, কিন্তু সেটা কত ওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ খরচ করছে, তা কিন্তু জানতে পারবেন না ! এসি সিঙ্গেল ফেইজের লাইনে ওয়াটেজ বের করার সূত্র হলঃ
watt = power_factor × AC_amp × AC_volt

এর মানে হলঃ আপনাকে পাওয়ার ফ্যাক্টরের মান জানতে হবে, তারপর সেটি কতটুকো কারেন্ট খরচ করছে এবং লাইনের এসি ভোল্টেজ কত, সেটি জানতে হবে । তবে আপনার কাছে এনার্জি/ওয়াটেজ মিটার থেকে থাকলে আপনি এক নিমিষেই সরাসরি কত ওয়াট ব্যবহৃত হচ্ছে, তা স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে পরিমাপ করে ফেলতে পারবেন ।

আমি গতকাল Tenda এর জনপ্রিয় সিঙ্গেল ব্যান্ড রাউটার Tenda F3 এর ওয়াট পরিমাপ করেছিলাম, সেই সাথে ৮ পোর্টের D-Link এর একটি Gigabit সুইচেরও বিদ্যুৎ খরচের পরিমাণ পরিমাপ করেছিলাম । সেগুলোর ফলাফল নিচে উল্লেখ করছি ।

Tenda F3
পাওয়ার এডাপ্টার এর ডিসি আউটপুট: 9V 1A (9 watt), 9V 600mA (5.4 watt)

দুটো এডাপ্টারের ক্ষেত্রেই Tenda F3 তে বিদ্যুৎ খরচ হচ্ছিলো 1.9W থেকে 2.1W এর মত । কোন লোড ছাড়া 1.9W আর একটা ডিভাইসে নেট ব্যবহার করতে থাকা অবস্থায় সর্বোচ্চ 2.1W পাওয়ার খরচ হচ্ছিলো ।

পাওয়ার এডাপ্টার এর ডিসি আউটপুট: 5V 1A (5 watt) আর এতে বিদ্যুৎ খরচের পরিমাণ ছিলো 1.5W ।

অনেকের ধারণা হতে পারে, 9V 1A এর এডাপ্টার এ তো বেশী বিদ্যুৎ খরচ হওয়ার কথা, 600mA এর এডাপ্টার এর চেয়ে ! কিন্তু তা হয় নি কেন ? দুটোরই বিদ্যুৎ খরচ সমান কেন ছিলো ?

আসলে 9V 1A এর এডাপ্টার ব্যবহার করলেই যে রাউটার সেখান থেকে 9W DC power ব্যবহার করবে, তা কিন্তু নয় । ধরেন রাউটার ব্যবহার করে 200mA DC কারেন্ট । সে ক্ষেত্রে কোম্পানি কিন্তু সেই রাউটারের সাথে এর চেয়ে বেশী ক্ষমতাসম্পন্ন এডাপ্টার ই দিবে, আর রাউটার যতটুকো কারেন্ট লাগে, সেখান থেকে ততটুকো গ্রহণ করবে । এ ক্ষেত্রে আপনি 9V 100A (900W) এর ডিসি আউটপুট ক্ষমতাসম্পন্ন পাওয়ার এডাপ্টার ব্যবহার করলেও রাউটার কিন্তু তার যতটুকো এম্পিয়ার ব্যবহার করার কথা, ততটুকুই কিন্তু করবে । এই কারণেই দুটো এডাপ্টার এর সর্বোচ্চ ডিসি আউটপুট প্রদানের ক্ষমতা ভিন্নতর হওয়ার সত্ত্বেও রাউটারের বিদ্যুৎ খরচের পরিমাণ সমান ই ছিলো ।

পরবর্তীতে সময়-সুযোগ হলে আরও কয়েকটি ব্র‍্যান্ড এবং মডেলের রাউটার + অনুর পাওয়ার খরচ টেস্ট করে সেগুলোর ফলাফল সহ পোস্ট করার ইচ্ছে আছে ।রাউটার কত ওয়াট বিদ্যুৎ খরচ করে ? বিস্তারিত জেনে নিন ।

পরবর্তীতে সময়-সুযোগ হলে আরও কয়েকটি ব্র‍্যান্ড এবং মডেলের রাউটার + অনুর পাওয়ার খরচ টেস্ট করে সেগুলোর ফলাফল সহ পোস্ট করার ইচ্ছে আছে ।

ইন্টারনেট ব্যবসা। উন্নত বিশ্বে ইন্টারনেটের গতি রকেটের মত। আর আমাদের দেশে ইন্টারনেটের গতি কিলোবাইটের মাধ্যেই সীমাবদ্ধ। ধীর গতির ইন্টারনেটের কারনে অনেকের কার্যক্রম থমকে আছে। অনেক তরুণ প্রতিভাবান ফ্রিল্যান্সার তো একটু বেশি ইন্টারনেট স্পিডের জন্য প্রতি মাসে হাজার হাজার টাকা খরচ করে শহর মুখী হচ্ছে। মাত্র কয়েকদিন আগেই মোবাইল অপারেটররা ৪জি সেবা দেওয়ার লাইসেন্স পেয়েছে। কিন্তু তাদের কার্যক্রম এখনও জেলা শহরের মধ্যেই সীমাবদ্ধ। এ ছাড়া রক্ত চোষা মোবাইল কোম্পানীর ইন্টারনেটের দাম এত বেশি যে সাধারণ মানুষের পক্ষে তাদের নেট প্যাকেজ ব্যবহার করা কঠিন। ওয়াইম্যাক্স সেবা দাতাদের অবস্থাও একই। কোন আনলিমিটেড প্যাকেজ তো নেই ই। কম টাকায় উচ্চ গতির নেট পাওয়ার একমাত্র মাধ্যম ব্রডব্যান্ড ইন্টারনেট। আনলিমিটেড প্যাকেজ, স্বল্প মূল্যের কারনে অধিকাংশ মানুষই ব্রডব্যান্ড ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহার করতে চান। কিন্তু দেশের খুব কম জায়গাতেই আছে ব্রডব্যান্ড ইন্টারনেট। ব্রডব্যান্ড ইন্টারনেটের ব্যবসা কম ঝুকিপূর্ণ। দেখে নিন ব্রডব্যান্ড ইন্টারনেটের আদ্যোপান্ত।
কিভাবে শুরু করবেন..?
ব্রডব্যান্ড ইন্টারনেটের ব্যবসা করতে হলে প্রথমে রিসার্চ করে নিন আপনার ব্যবসায়ের এলাকায় ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারকারী কেমন। যদি সন্তোষজনক মনে হয় তাহলে শুরু করতে পারেন। ব্রডব্যান্ড ব্যবসা করার জন্য বিটিআরসি থেকে লাইসেন্স করতে হবে। লাইসেন্স করার জন্য নির্ধারিত ফরমে আবেদন করতে হবে। ফরম পাবেন এখানে www.btrc.gov.bd । ফরমে বর্ণিত সকল কাগজপত্র সংযুক্ত করে বিটিআরসি হেড অফিসে নিয়ে জমা দিতে হবে। সব কিছু ঠিক থাকলে আবেদন করার ৩ মাসে ভিতর লাইসেন্স পেয়ে যাবেন। লাইসেন্স পাওয়ার পর কিনতে হবে ব্যান্ডউইথ। ব্রডব্যান্ড তিন ভাবে আনা যায়। ১. অপটিক্যাল ফাইবারের মাধ্যমে। ২. স্যাটেলাইটের মাধ্যমে ৩. মোবাইল টাওয়ারের মাধ্যমে। অপটিক্যাল ফাইবারের মাধ্যমে আনলে ব্যান্ডউইথের দাম পরে সবচেয়ে কম। তবে অপটিক্যাল ফাইবারের মাধ্যমে আনতে হলে আপনার ব্যবসায়ীক এলাকায় বা আশে পাশে ব্যান্ডউইথ প্রোভাইডারের লাইন থাকতে হবে। যদি অনেক দূরে হয় তাইলে স্যাটেইলাইট বা মোবাইল টাওয়ারের বিটিএস থেকে আনতে হবে। তবে এই পদ্ধতিতে ব্যান্ডউইথের দাম পরবে বেশি। দেশে মোট ৩৬টি IIG (International Internet Gateway) ব্যান্ডউইথ বিক্রি করে। একমাত্র সরকারি IIG বিটিসিএল। কমদামে ব্যান্ডউইথ বিক্রি করে এমন কয়েকটি বেসরকারি IIG হল ম্যাঙ্গো টেলিকম, সামিট কামিউনিকেশন, বাংলা ফোন, টমেটুওয়েব, ভিগ্রো কামিউনিকেশন ও বিডি লিংক কামিউনিকেশন। দেশের সবগুলি IIG সম্পর্কে জানতে ভিজিট করুন - http://www.btrc.gov.bd/operators/International%20Internet%20Gateway%20%28IIG%29%20Services কি কি লাগবেঃ ব্রডব্যান্ড ব্যবসা করতে হলে আপনাকে কিছু যন্ত্রপাতি কিনতে হবে। সেগুলি হল স্পিড কন্ট্রোল করার জন্য মাইক্রোটিক রাউটার, ক্যাবল, একটি পিসি, বেজ স্ট্যাশন স্থাপন করার জন্য সুইচ ও বক্স। মাইক্রোটিক রাউটার ২৪ ঘন্টা অন রাখার জন্য নিরবিচ্ছিন্ন বিদ্যুতের ব্যবস্থা করতে হবে। পুঁজি লাগবে কতঃ পুঁজি কত লাগবে সেটা নির্ভর করবে আপনি কত কিলোমিটার এলাকায় লাইন টানবেন তার উপর। যন্ত্রপাতি ও লাইসেন্স করার জন্য লাগবে ৫০,০০০ টাকা, প্রতিটি বেজ স্ট্যাশন ১০০০, প্রতি কিলোমিটার ক্যাবল ১০০০০ টাকা। বিটিসিএল এ প্রতি মেগাবিট ব্যান্ডউইথের দাম পরবে ২৮০০ টাকা, বেসরকারি IIG এর নিজস্ব লাইন থেকে নিলে দাম পরবে ১০০০-১৮০০ টাকা। আর মোবাইলের টাওয়ারের বিটিএস থেকে নিলে প্রতি মেগাবিট পরবে ৩০০০-৫০০০ টাকা। ঝুকি কতটুকুঃ ব্রডব্যান্ড ইন্টারনেট ব্যবসায় ঝুকি অনেক কম। কারন এই ব্যবসায় একবার সব কিছু স্থাপন করে নিলে তারপর ব্যান্ডউইথ ছাড়া তেমন খরচ নেই। ঝুকি বলতে যদি হঠাৎ সবাই কানেকশন বন্ধ করে দেয়। আয়-ব্যয়ঃ এই ব্যবসায় আয় গ্রাহকের উপর নির্ভরশীল। যদি গ্রাহক বেশি হয় তাহলে আয়ও বেশি হবে। সাধারণত প্রতি মেগাবিটে আয় হয়ে থাকে ২০০০-৩০০০ টাকা। আপনি যদি প্রতি মাসে ৫ মেগাবিট ব্যান্ডউইথ বিক্রি করতে পারেন তাহলে আয় থাকবে ১২০০০-১৫০০০ টাকা। গ্রাহক যত বাড়বে আয় তত বেশি হবে এবং ব্যান্ডউইথও কম লাগবে। ধন্যবাদ ...

ঘরের কোথায় রাউটার রাখলে ওয়াই-ফাই সিগন্যাল ভালো পাবেন...?

এক সকালে ‘ইন্টারনেটের লোক’ এসে সংযোগ দিয়ে গেলেন। ইন্টারনেটের নীল তার ওয়াই-ফাই রাউটারে যুক্ত করে বললেন, কোথায় রাখব? ‘রাখেন এক জায়গায়।’ পরের তিন বছর রান্নাঘরের তাকে তেল-লবণ-হলুদের সঙ্গে কাটিয়ে দিল সেই রাউটার।

এরপর গতি কম মনে হলে ইন্টারনেট সেবাদাতার সঙ্গে ফোনে হম্বিতম্বি করেছি, কম্পিউটার হাজারবার রিস্টার্ট দিয়েছি, দেয়ালে মাথা পর্যন্ত ঠুকেছি, তবে রাউটার সরিয়ে জুতসই কোথাও রাখার কথা মাথায় আসেনি। ব্রডব্যান্ড ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারের বেলায় এখন সিংহভাগ বাসা বা অফিসে ওয়াই-ফাই রাউটার লাগানো হয়। তবে ওই ইন্টারনেটের লোক এসে যেখানে লাগিয়ে দিয়ে যান, রাউটার সেখানেই থাকে।

ওয়াই-ফাই রাউটারে ইন্টারনেট গতি নির্ভর করে অনেক কিছুর ওপরে। আমরা বলছি না রাউটারের অবস্থান ইন্টারনেটের গতির একমাত্র নির্ণায়ক। তবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তো বটেই। বিশেষ করে বড় বাড়ির ক্ষেত্রে। আজ চলুন সেই অবস্থান নিয়ে আমরা আলোচনা করি।

আগে রাউটার ঠিক করুন

রাজধানীর বেশির ভাগ অ্যাপার্টমেন্টের আকার ছোট, হাজার দেড়েক বর্গফুটের বেশ কম। এই অ্যাপার্টমেন্টগুলোতে একটি ওয়্যারলেস অ্যাকসেস পয়েন্টই যথেষ্ট। মানে শুধু রাউটার হলেই হবে। তবে সেটা যদি অনেক পুরোনো মডেলের হয়, তবে হালনাগাদ করে নেওয়াই বরং ভালো। সে ক্ষেত্রে ৮০২.১১এসি এবং ডুয়েল ব্যান্ড সমর্থিত কি না দেখে নিতে পারেন। এতে কভারেজ নিয়ে তুলনামূলক কম ঝামেলায় পড়তে হবে।

তবে বাড়ি বড় হলে কিংবা এক রাউটারে একাধিক তলায় ইন্টারনেট সংযোগ দিতে চাইলে ‘মেশ নেটওয়ার্ক’ তৈরি করতে হবে। অর্থাৎ রাউটার এক জায়গায় রেখে ওয়াইফাই এক্সটেন্ডার দিয়ে বাড়ির সব জায়গায় সংযোগ ছড়িয়ে দেওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করতে হবে। বাড়ির কোনো কোনায় যদি সিগন্যাল না পৌঁছে, তবে সেখানে নতুন একটি এক্সটেন্ডার লাগিয়ে নিলেই হলো। তবু মূল রাউটার কোথায় রাখবেন, সেটা বেশ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

কোথায় রাখবেন রাউটার

বাড়িতে নতুন ইন্টারনেট সংযোগ নেওয়ার সময় রাউটার সচরাচর যে পথে ইন্টারনেটের তার বাড়িতে ঢুকেছে, তার আশপাশে কোথাও রাখা হয়। এখানে বলে রাখা ভালো, যিনি সংযোগ দিয়ে যান, সংযোগ দেওয়াই তাঁর কাজ। কোথায় রাউটার রাখলে আপনার কাজের সুবিধা হবে, তা আপনাকেই ভেবে ঠিক করতে হবে।

মাঝামাঝি রাখা ভালো

রাউটার সব দিকেই সিগন্যাল পাঠিয়ে থাকে। আপনি যদি দক্ষিণ দিকের ঘরটার এক কোনায় রাখেন, তবে ওয়্যারলেস কভারেজের প্রায় অর্ধেকটা বাড়ির বাইরেই থেকে গেল। অবশ্য পথচারীদের সেবায় ইন্টারনেট বিতরণ কর্মসূচি হাতে নিলে ভিন্ন কথা। আর যদি পুরো বাড়িতে সমান হারে কভারেজ চান, তাহলে মাঝামাঝি কোথাও রাখলেই বরং ভালো। তবে নির্দিষ্ট কোনো ঘরে প্রয়োজন হলে রাখুন। আর সে কাজটি ইন্টারনেটের সংযোগ নেওয়ার সময়েই করা ভালো। কারণ, পর্যাপ্ত লম্বা তার থাকতে হবে, যেখানে রাউটার রাখবেন সেটির আশপাশে পাওয়ার আউটলেটও থাকতে হবে।

উঁচু কোথাও রাখুন

রাউটার থেকে নিচের দিকেও সিগন্যাল আসে। তাই উঁচু কোথাও সেটি রাখা ভালো। তাই বলে ছাদের সঙ্গে স্কচটেপ দিয়ে আটকে রাখতে হবে না। হয়তো বইয়ের তাকের ওপর রাখলেন কিংবা দেয়ালে কোথাও আটকে দিতে পারেন।

Linux Basic Command

• man
The man command - the manual command - is used to show the manual of the inputted command. Just like a film on the nature of film, the man command is the meta command of the Linux CLI. Inputting the man command will show you all information about the command you are using. An example:
man cd
The inputting command will show the manual or all relevant information for the change directory command

• ls
The ls command - the list command - functions in the Linux terminal to show all of the major directories filed under a given file system. For example, the command:
ls /applications
The ls command is used for viewing files, folders and directories.

• cd
The cd command - change directory - will allow the user to change between file directories. As the name command name suggest, you would use the cd command to circulate between two different directories. For example, if you wanted to change from the home directory to the Arora directory, you would input the following command:
cd/arora/applications
As you might have noted, the path name listed lists in reverse order. Logically cd/arora/applications reads change to the arora directory which is stored in the applications directory. All Linux commands follow a logical path.

• mv
The mv command - move - allows a user to move a file to another folder or directory. Just like dragging a file located on a PC desktop to a folder stored within the "Documents" folder, the mv command functions in the same manner. An example of the mv command is:
mv/arora/applications/majorapps /arora/applications/minorapps
The first part of the command mv/arora/applications/majorapps lists the application to be moved. In this case, arora. The second part of the command /arora/applications/minorapps lists where arora will be moved to - from majorapps to minorapps.

• mkdir
The mkdir - make directory - command allows the user to make a new directory. Just like making a new directory within a PC or Mac desktop environment, the mkdir command makes new directories in a Linux environment. An example of the mkdir command
mkdir testdirectory
The example command made the directory "testdirectory".

• rm –rf and rmdir
The rm -rf remove directory and file, -rf command allows the user to remove file and folder forcefully. An example of the rm -rf command:
rm -rf testdirectory and rmdir testdirectory
The example command removed the directory "testdirectory".
It should be noted: both the mkdir and rmdir commands make and remove directories. They do not make files and they will also not remove a directory which has files in it. The mkdir will make an empty directory and the rmdir command will remove an empty directory.

• touch
The touch command allows users to make files using the Linux CLI. Just as the mkdir command makes directories, the touch command makes files. Just as you would make a .doc or a .txt using a PC desktop, the touch command makes empty files. An example of the touch command:
touch testfile.txt
The example touch command effectively created the file testfile.

• locate
The locate find command is meant to find a file within the Linux OS. If you don't know the name of a certain file or you aren't sure where the file is saved and stored, the locate command comes in handy. A locate command example:
locate -i *red*house**city*

• clear
The clear command clears the screen and wipes the board clean. Using the clear command will take the user back to the start prompt of whatever directory you are currently operating in. To use the clear command simply type clear.
