We’re famed far and wide for our incredible rides, attractions and events, not to mention our super-friendly staff and our exciting selection of cafés and restaurants. Come and discover the magic for yourself by booking a fun-packed day out for you, your family and friends at our truly iconic fun park centre, plus adults go free!
If you enjoy your visit, keep hold of your receipt and wristband and you can upgrade to an annual pass. You can do this up to 30 days after your visit and we will use your previous purchase against the cost of the annual pass.

AdventureIsland Theme Park

Mighty Mini Mega
Speed through the suspended curves and curls of this mini coaster on top of the arcade.
Don’t let the name fool you! This bendy, twisty and surprisingly fast rollercoaster, which is located on top of the Mega City Arcade, is a joy for park visitors of all generations.

Guests must be a minimum of 100cm to ride. Guests under 120cm must be accompanied by a responsible person of 14 years or over, who rides for free.

Barnstormer
Take to the skies in your own stunt plane. Chocks-Away!
Stormy by name and by nature, this fun, fast paced rollercoaster is a treat for riders of all ages looking for genuine thrills up high in the sky.

Guests must be a minimum of 100cm to ride. Guests under 120cm must be accompanied by a responsible person of 14 years or over, who rides for free.

Skydrop
Send your nerves into free fall with the ultimate adventure drop ride.
Get set to free fall! As you climb high into the sky, you’ll get a stunning bird’s eye view of the Island before being plunged feet-first into a rip-roaring 21 metre drop.
Guests must be a minimum of 120cm to ride.

Ramba Zamba
Spin and twirl your way around the park from the Island’s signature skater.
How much of this timeless DiskO ride can YOU handle? Ramba Zamba will throw you along an arc-shaped track, adding in more than a few gut-wrenching twirls along the way for good measure.

Guests must be a minimum of 120cm to ride.

Tidal Wave Blue
Our fast-moving water slide is guaranteed to get your heart racing (and you WILL get wet!).
Think you know what to expect from our water slide? Think again! The Tidal Wave Blue looks innocent enough, but its 20 metre drop means you’ll gather a pretty impressive speed before splashing your way back to reality.

Guests must be a minimum of 120cm to ride.

Tidal Wave Green
Grab a dinghy to bump and slide your way through our splash-tastic Green Terror Tube.
Experience rapid twists and turns at surprisingly high speed as you zip your way through the Green Terror Tube. A good old-fashioned soaking is 100% guaranteed!

Guests must be a minimum of 120cm to ride. There must be two riders in each boat.

Green Scream
Our croc-tastic coaster that’s suitable for our slightly shorter riders.
Climb aboard Adventure Island’s very own crocodile and take in the highs (and lows) of a snappy spin around the edge of the park.

City Wheel
Take in the great views and the amazing light show on our City Wheel.
Adventure Island is proud to announce the arrival of a new Southend icon, the City Wheel. Named in recognition of Southend-on-Sea achieving city status after the tragic death of Sir David Amess MP who tirelessly campaigned for this to happen. Southend became a City on 1st March 2022 with a visit from His Royal Highness Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Adventure Island celebrated this with the opening of the City Wheel on Saturday 17th December 2023 by Anna Firth MP who now holds Sir Davids Southend West seat.

The City Wheel stands at an impressive 36 metres tall and has sweeping views over Southend City and the Thames Estuary. On a clear day it’s even possible to see Canary Wharf and the London skyscraper skyline!

The City Wheel joins the family-friendly group of rides that allows a person of 14 years or over to ride free when accompanying a child under 120cms tall.

There are 24 gondolas that can hold up to 6 people. One of the gondolas are adapted for wheelchair users.

The most impressive feature of the City Wheel, apart from the great views, is its amazing light show! It truly needs to be seen at night to experience the ‘dancing’ lights as the giant wheel turns.

The City Wheel is sure to be a popular hit with all the family, young and old!

Axis
Spin, swing and belly-scream your way around the sky. Age restrictions apply.
It’s one of our newer arrivals, but Axis has quickly become a firm favourite amongst our regular guests. This fast-moving, pendulum-style ride swings, spins and twists its thrill-loving sitters upside down over 100ft in the air.

Riders must be a minimum of 130cm tall and a maximum of 190cm (6ft 2) to ride Axis. Suitable for riders aged 10+.

Archelon

Ride the waves sideways aboard our super-high, mega-breezy, carousel-style chair ride.
Everyone loves the weightless thrills of a traditional wave sw***er – and Archelon definitely delivers unforgettable sky-high sensations! Our version is named after the largest turtle that ever swam the oceans of the Earth.
Guests must be a minimum of 120cm to ride.

Rage
Duck, twist and dive your way round our best ‘coaster at heart-stopping speed.
Manned by Captain Rageman, it’s the biggest and best rollercoaster that Adventure Island has to offer – and with its loops, twists and flat-out speeds, Rage is guaranteed to leave even the most experienced rider short of breath and lost for words!

Guests must be a minimum of 120cm to ride.

Whether you’re after the breath-taking thrills of our rollercoaster Rage, the simple pleasures of our Helter Skelter or the kid-friendly joys of our Jumping Jolly Rogers, there’s something for everyone at the UK’s No.1 Free Entry Fun Park.

Our wristbands give you unlimited access to all the rides and attractions you’re tall enough to go on. They’re £28 onsite, or just £24 when you purchase them in advance via our website.

And remember, entry to the park itself is FREE!

Over the Hill 2: Spooksville.
Take a light-hearted cartoon themed frolic into the spookiest part of the Island – if you dare!
What’s that over the hill?! Prepare for some ghostly encounters as you take a trip to Spooksville, the part of the park where Halloween never ends. This spine-tingling experience is suitable for all the family, although some younger riders may find parts of it a little scary.

There’s no minimum height limit. Guests under 120cm must be self-supporting and accompanied by a responsible person of 14 years or over, who rides for free.

Adventure Island is open today, Monday 31st July and the closing time will be confirmed by 10:45am
Adventure Inside will be open daily from 11am.

Adventure Inside is open every day, excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and may differ in closing time to Adventure Island when open.
On days where the main park is closed, but Adventure Inside remains open, the play area will open its doors from 11am daily, and the rides will open from 12pm.

Our commitment to provide a service

We will endeavour to ensure that as many rides and attractions as possible are available for use by guests at the Attraction. However, we reserve the right, without prior notice, to close and change the programme of rides and attractions and/or the Attraction’s operating hours. Stockvale in its absolute discretion reserves the right to close the whole or any part of the Attraction at any time or to restrict the number of persons having access to the Attraction. The reason for any closure or restriction provided by this condition may include technical or operational reasons, capacity, inclement weather, special events or to ensure the safety and security of guests or if Stockvale reasonably considers the circumstances so require.
As part of this, ride and attraction queues may be closed up to 1 hour before the advertised closing time.

Adventure Island is a theme park in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. The site of the theme park flanks the north end of Southend Pier and has been a theme park since 1976 when the land now forming the west side of the park was purchased by the Miller family.
