Our Story

En agosto de 1992 nace D.SCHAFER, Diana Aguilar, diseñadora y fundadora, da inició a diseñar piezas que surgían de su imaginación, implementando técnicas artesanas en confección de prendas. El nombre surge dándole honor al apellido de la abuela paterna, y la “D” por la letra inicial su nombre.

Mostró una gran pasión por el área de diseño, dando rienda suelta a su imaginación y explorando nuevas técnicas de tejido de punto e implementación de cristales Swarovski en sus diseños. Diana cuenta que cuando le dieron sus resultados de aptitudes, sobresalía una habilidad nata para el diseño, su mamá le dijo “¿si estudias diseño, de que vas a vivir? ¡En Guatemala no hay campo para un diseñador!” Años más tarde emprendería con éste negocio y su madre vería el éxito que tendrían y que en realidad podría vivir del diseño”. Sin embargo, siempre contó con el apoyo de nu madre.

Aún hoy, las piezas de D. Schafer son realizadas por manos artesanas utilizando como pilar principal la unión: tanto de hilos para crear el tejido, que tanto ha caracterizado a Diana, como de la familia, que ha sido el aliciente primordial de su trabajo. Cada prenda tiene un proceso de elaboración no mínimo a 60 horas de trabajo, buscando resaltar texturas propias de la marca y la perfección en cada una de ellas.
