With the arrival of fall and its traditions, Nonage in collaboration with SOSO & TRAM 3 invites you to celebrate and reflect on the life cycles during ‘’ Ceci n’est pas Hallozeen; Death and Rebirth.

The essence of this event encapsulates the idea that everything is about perception and how we approach our life’s ebbs and flow.
As life is in motion, it will find ways to keep life-ing and it's up to us to set the intention. So, how are you going to go about it?

This evenement is a two-day journey of self-expression, creative offerings and reimagined rituals, touching on the themes of transformation and renewal.
Navigating & celebrating the unveiling journey of art and tradition. Exploring together how syncretism - the blending of diverse cultural beliefs and practices can inspire & ground our intention into new ways of being.

This by starting with an interactive market and open mic on the 29 of october and an immersive experience on the 30 of october.

we are open to all kind of artistry and the winners of the opencall will be chosen by a jury of our own peers.

The deadline for the exposition runs till 25 augustus.

Noch vlees noch vis is een twee daagse evenement georganiseerd door Archipel op 14 en 15 september voor de opening van hun Club Frigo.

Dit evenement is onderdeel van het Kadefestival waarbij we de buurtbewoners van het Dam in de spotlight zetten met muziek, kunst, eten en natuurlijk een markt voor de buurt.

Hierdoor zijn we opzoek naar foodtrucks, koks en horeca uitbaters die een kraam wensen tijdens de tweedaagse. Sinds we enorm geloven in diversiteit staan we open voor alle soorten voeding en drank.

Het doel is om de bezoekers onder te dompelen in nieuwe ervaringen en nieuwe smaken.

TOPIC OF THE DAY. - LOVE YOU -

Normally we are not the type of people who jump on the bandwagon of cliches.

We actively avoid falling into those pitfalls.

Yet today of all days feels like a great day to follow the masses. 

Yeah we know this is just another day invented by corporate overlords to sell more products.

But every excuse to celebrate love is a good one. Every reason to show your person affection is a valid one.
We are of course of the opinion that when it comes to love you should do it every day.

You should love limitless and bounderless.

So we wanna write this poem to tell you.. WE LOVE YOU . We love all of followers, all the artist we met and worked with. All the people who were part of our story.

WE LOVE YOU.

We love the things you do, what you bring to the table, how you hold yourself and the things you dont show.
We love all of you.

And yeah we should say this more often.
Yet life sometimes flashes by so fast we dont always have the time. 

But today we do. Today we took a time out.

To tell you two simple things.

I LOVE YOU & THANK YOU …

The first thing that came up in my mind when hearing this quote, was that it must be white guy who wrote this.
Because (with utmost respect ) n***a always late.

African time is not a myth, it is a way of life.

For real some of my friends are automatic late, no matter how you try to trick them into coming early. As a researcher I had to look up the skin color of Jerome Dickey.

And he is black, like black black which kinda highlights my own inherent bias. I’m so used to being late and waiting for people who are late that I have attributed a tendency to a whole demographic.

And that is not only incorrect but extremely dangerous.

We all have inherent biases, some which we can not change because they are so integral to our identity.
Now of course this doesn’t mean you can’t change your bad habits.

A Lot of what makes you you, can be changed when you actively work on it.

What I'm trying to say is that there are a few things that are so inherent to us we don’t even notice it.
Or maybe we do notice but talk about it in a funny manner. Laugh and joke about all those tiny misconception.

And that is where the danger lies, what is tiny for us might be huge for another.
The graveness of an act does not solely depend on the actor.

Remember that for some,
To be early is to be on time and to be on time is to be late, to be late is unacceptable.

Are you always on time? Do you hate latecomers? What's your favorite excuse when you are late?

QUOTE OF THE DAY :

There is rhythm in chaos ~ B’Elanna Delannoit

Have you ever heard of face pareidolia, the phenomenon of seeing faces in everyday objects?
Its extremely common and evolutionary trait that helped us survive.
Recognizing faces quickly meant the difference between friendly and certain death.

Reason i’m bringing up this question is because it touches upon our ability to create structure out of chaos. its amazing how fast randomness can become familiar.

Let’s take music, no matter which music it will have its own rhythm that reminds you of something else. This is not to say that music nowadays is not unique.

But to show you how we look for things to connect, to understand and to grow.
History taught us that most things can be explained if we are willing to learn from the past.

What is considered chaos now might be the solution to later.
What sounds strange now might be the drums that beat to the rhythm of your future.

We advise you to stand still for a while. And listen, just listen.

Listen to the earth, nature and all your different voices.
They are trying to tell you something, so just listen and find the rhythm to your chaos.

Whats your rhythms ? How does your chaos looks like? Have you found the sweet spot between both?

Wanted to start this post by saying it's not easy writing about (domestic) abuse.
Yet that statement feels wrong considering the topic mentioned above.
If we can barely summon the mental strength to write about this then imagine how it must feel going through it.

We wanna be careful with speaking for the ones who had to endure it.
The experience is alien to us, the only comparisons I can make are from movies and stories from my friends. Its absolutely not my intention to insult or throw salt in open wounds.
We recognize how hard it can be to speak your truth. Especially when the world only wants to hear the lie.

As a man calling myself an ally sounds like the bare minimum.
Because what about those times that I saw the sign and chose not to say anything.
Or excuse some of my friends' behavior as youthful ignorance.

We can do more, we should do more. F**k it we are going to do more.
Create a world where the young are safe from assault and hurt from predators.
No one should feel like a victim.

So hear us when we say that we don’t see you as a victim.
But as someone who went through darkness and became the light.
