AAIR, Antwerp Videos

Videos by AAIR in Antwerp. Artist residency and provider of studios

If you are feeling overwhelmed with virtual content these days, we invite you to pass by our façade and see this motivational flag by Das Institut (Kerstin Brätsch & Adele Röder), which we’re hosting in the context of #fourflags2020.

The collective DAS INSTITUT was founded in 2007 by Kerstin Brätsch (1979, Germany) and Adele Röder (1980, Germany). DAS INSTITUT incorporates strategies of marketing and branding into painting, raising questions about the authority of art in the age of globalization and the endless reproducibility of images.

DAS INSTITUT is one of 30 artists invited by Julia Mullié and Nick Terra to participate in Four Flags, a project that brings art to public space in times of containment. A new flag will appear every Thursday and travel to 8 non-profits in Belgium, including also Netwerk Aalst, KIOSK, Kunsthal Gent, Be-Part, Platform voor actuele kunst, Cc Strombeek, La Loge & CIAP Kunstverein. With special thanks to Siska Bulkens and Louis-Philippe Van Eeckhoutte for making this happen!
