Vandaag nemen we in de Kathedraal van Antwerpen afscheid van Armand Everaert, ook wel bekend als Armand van Café Strange. Een waar icoon binnen onze gemeenschap, die jarenlang Café Strange uitbaatte, waar zoveel mensen een veilige plek en plezier vonden. Armand zorgde voor een unieke sfeer, de authentieke uitstraling, en een glimlach achter de toog. Iedereen kwam er graag, voor een babbel en om zich thuis te voelen.

In 2019 reed Armand nog mee op de praalwagen van buurtcomité 2060 tijdens de Antwerp Pride Parade. Vorige week is hij op 92-jarige leeftijd overleden. Zijn erfenis leeft voort: het Museum aan de Stroom wijdt een tentoonstelling aan hem, en hij krijgt vandaag zijn laatste rustplaats op het Ereperk van het Schoonselhof – een prachtig eerbetoon voor iemand die voor velen van onschatbare waarde was.

Bedankt, Armand, voor alles. We hopen dat je ergens een mooi feestje bouwt.

Tomorrow (1st of November) we will be closed either to remember our passed loved ones or feeling a bit like a zombie ourselves.

We were informed a new outbreak of the shigella bacteria has been spotted!!!
This bacteria can cause very serious and longlasting diarrhoea, and is very contagious.
It is most often transmitted through anything an*l (r*mming, p*netration, f*ingering, use of toys,….)
To protect yourself it is recomended to:
Wash hands, *ss, g*nitals with water and soap after s*x)
Use cond*ms
Change cond*ms between an*l and *ral s*x
Ising latex gloves for f*sting
Be careful out there!!
