As voluminous as it is comfortable, Armchair 400 was created by Alvar Aalto in 1936 for an exhibition at the Milan Triennale, where it was promptly awarded a prize.

The chair owes its nickname “Tank” to its distinctive wide and sturdy armrests made of form-bent birch lamella and to its robust upholstery. The springy cantilevered frame offers a flexible, comfortable seat.

A favourite since the 1930s, Armchair 400 remains effortlessly modern and can be upholstered in any material.

MULLER VAN SEVEREN X HAY

Adding to their existing collaboration with HAY, Muller Van Severen’s innate sense of colour and proportions are showcased to perfection in the Colour Rack. With its simple, sculptural form, it makes an elegant and functional alternative to a wardrobe, and can also be creatively used as a room divider. The flat-packed design, combined with the C- and S-shaped options, and beautiful colours make it a versatile and visually appealing item that brings balance to its surroundings.

In addition to the Colour Rack, Muller Van Severen’s Colour Hanger is a minimalistic hanger with a distinctive and colourful design. Crafted in steel wire, it features a conjoined hook design that adds visual appeal as well as providing extra strength. The hangers are available in several different colours that can be playfully mixed together and are sold in sets of three.

What defines iconic and timeless design?

Simplicity, versatility, and innovative construction are three important pillars in furniture design. Stool 60, designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933, is the perfect example for this.

A modern interpretation of a 1950's design classic

The original Pira shelf was designed by Olle Pira in 1954, a traditional master cabinet-maker who crafted cherry, maple and matured oak with age-old skills. Reimagined by , the shelving system is modular and can be adapted to any space thanks to its ability to be attached to the wall or clamped between floor and ceiling to give it a free-floating character.

We've been waiting for a design like this! With a striking graphic silhouette, the height of the Lod Pendant can be easily adjusted using the counterweight or the shade’s perpendicular rod.

Soon part of our carefully curated showroom setting, the Kori Collection offers a skillful interplay of direct and indirect light and enriches the interior’s ambiance with its accent lighting.

Designed by Stockholm-based , Kori means “basket” in Finnish which speaks of the intelligent core element designed to create a warm, generous atmosphere through soft and diffuse light, ensuring its suitability for a wide variety of applications.

The Floor Lamp and Table Lamp are available in both a striking deep matt white and a bright matt orange. To us, they vaguely resemble a lighthouse, reflecting the coastal waters of Finland. Timeless and beautiful, don't you agree?

Get creative with String Furniture 🐝

To prepare ourselves for our upcoming collaboration with Artek, we took a dive into the city where the brand has its origin: Helsinki. 🇫🇮 Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto helped shape the culture of Finland when he co-founded Artek in 1935 — and our team member Toon was lucky enough to explore the world of Artek and Alvar Aalto.
