Meet Ilona, the newest addition to our pole teaching team! 🙋🏻‍♀️ We’re thrilled to welcome her aboard.

Ilona’s pole journey began with us four years ago after a few earlier attempts that didn’t quite work out. But she didn’t give up, and as soon as she joined Vertical Barre, she fell in love with pole dancing. ♥️

Ilona is passionate about every aspect of pole: regular classes, spinny pole, high heels, and flexibility training. But what she loves most is freestyle and improvisation. 🤩

As a school teacher, it was a natural fit for her to combine her love for teaching with her passion for pole dancing, which led her to pursue her Pole Teacher diploma. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Starting in September, she will be teaching Pole Beginners on Wednesdays and alternating Sunday classes (Beginners + Spinny Essentials).

Ilona is eager to share her love for pole dancing with her students and help them discover the magic of this incredible discipline. ✨✨

Tuesday’s Spinny Inter 2 lessons will join forces with Spinny Inter 1 lessons so as from July 2nd, the 7:30 pm class of Tuesdays will become: Spinny Pole Inter 1 + Inter 2

This means students of both levels are welcome to join, we will work on the same combo with progressions/regressions of the moves/transitions to accommodate your needs for a challenge or to solidify the previous steps.

Meet our new activity and of course our new team member, Cristina (more about her in another post 🤩)

Aerial Silks uses two lengths of fabric, secured from the ceiling, and involves defying gravity and using your strength to climb and manoeuvre the silks.
You will create beautiful shapes that will improve your flexibility, combos that will challenge your coordination and tumbles that will get your adrenaline going 🚀

Want to try them out?
We will be doing 2 try-out days on Sunday 31/3 and 07/4, with one lesson from 1pm to 2:30 pm (lessons last 1,5 hours!) and the possibility of adding a second class after if first ones are full 🙌🏻

What to wear? Long leggings and a t-shirt you can tuck into the legging with either short or long sleeves (no sports bra/sleeveless t-shirt to prevent skin burns)

As a promo you will be able to book these try-outs only once using one credit of your membership/class pack but for our fixed lessons starting on the week of 15/3 you will need to purchase Single Aerial Classes since we don’t have a broad schedule yet to offer them under regular memberships in case anybody would join VB just for silks, if we see demand is higher and we can open new lessons, we will reevaluate memberships/class packs options 😉

Tuesdays from 6:30 pm to 8 pm
Fridays from 5:30 pm to 7 pm
Sundays from 1 pm to 2:30 pm

A little bit about her 😊

Proudly representing Antwerp with boundless energy and passion and with three years of pole dancing experience, she’s been hooked since day one! 🙌🏻
From spinny combos to power moves and exotic choreos, she is a true multipoler ready to shake things up.
She is definitely not just about pole dancing; she is also a creative thrill-seeker always up for a challenge.
Besides pole, she is a hairdresser 💇🏻‍♀️ and do volunteer work in her spare time. She is currently following additional training in Business management . A real busy bee! 🐝
She loves spicy food and riding her bicycle everywhere like a true Antwerpenaar 🅰️❤️

He recently moved to Antwerp from Leuven where he used to teach and is super happy to continue his pole journey with us.

He is an energetic pole fanatic who loves clean lines and cool tricks. With influences from ballroom and latin dance, he strives for elegance and effortlessness in his classes. 🪩🕺🏽
Having an engineering background he is extremely interested in how to improve what we can do in the pole with less effort by positioning our bodies just right. ✅

His students give him energy, he loves seeing them accomplish things they thought they couldn’t, so he is very excited to show them how to reach their full potential 🚀🚀🚀

We are very happy to introduce her as a new member of our teacher team 🤩

Originally from Russia and living in Belgium for 3 years, Olga has been pole dancing for about 5 years, reaching an advanced level as a student and challenging herself a bit further by becoming a certified pole and flexy teacher 🚀

She loves pole because it’s always fun and you learn something new every class, she like paying special attention to technique without forgetting about aesthetics ✨

Olga works as a Product Owner in IT and on her free time she does photography (so she knows all the right angles for your perfect pole pics).
She loves travelling and also practicing snowboarding 🏂 and climbing 🧗‍♀️

She will start teaching Intermediate 1 lessons on Thursdays from October 19th so let’s give her a warm welcome 🤗

As many of you know, our rooms are available for rent to self-train.
As we see an increased use of 2 people training together we want to point out some important things that will contribute to a safer place.

➡️ Please respect the maximum amount of people training that corresponds to the purchased product: We now have sessions for 1 person and 2 people, if you want to train with a bigger group, you can join our Open Pole on Sundays.

➡️ If you are renting the room with someone else, make sure you are both the same level to have a similar understanding on how to assist each other. Training with someone who is in a lower level than you might result in teaching to that person, which is not allowed for safety reasons. You should always be practicing things you are both familiar with. To learn new moves, we of course have our group lessons or privates for special requests.

➡️ Using the crash mat is strongly recommended.

➡️ Make sure you read the confirmation email after purchase with more instructions and which also includes the key lock password that will be changed every now and then.

➡️ Most importantly: enjoy your session!

For Inter Spinny 1 you can still join on Thursdays at 19:30

For this month on we have added another level in Vertical Barre: Advanced 🤩

Which means that the pole content will be now spread out into 4 different levels, so we felt in deeper need to set clearer requirements to level up in each of them in case you are still in doubt about where you stand. 🔝 (meaning that what you will read on each list is taught in the previous level)

We know all pole dancers are different and we support all their various profiles but in order to guarantee the safety and proper evolution in the sport, we strongly encourage you to check on these lists and self-assess yourselves (or ask us for help) to make sure you don’t go through frustrations for either not being challenged enough and getting bored or struggling for not having the solid base of the previous level.

We “ask for 95%” of these requirements because we all have nemesis move(s) that shouldn’t prevent us from evolving but also consider these are “base moves” that will very likely get in the way in the future in combos/other moves, so we suggest you to know them well 😊

A bit about her ♥️

She comes from Hungary and has been living in Antwerp for 11 years already.

She felt in love with pole dancing as she realised fast that pole doesn’t only train her body but also her mind&soul, boosting her self-love and confidence 🫶🏻

She felt the call of “infecting” 😇 others with these feelings so she became a certified pole instructor getting deeper in those techniques and safety tips.

Off the pole she is a scientist👩‍💻, a true foodie 🍜 an experienced traveller ✈️ and always leaves room for magic and miracles ✨

She will be supporting the team during November and December in Wednesday’s pole lessons (Intermediate 1 and Beginners) starting next week.

A bit about her:
Born and raised in Leuven, while growing up she tried 1000 different sports and always ended up quitting within the year. (Sounds familiar to anybody?🙋🏻‍♀️😅)
Her pole journey started in 2018: one training a week soon became 5 or even 6.
Emeline has been also training with us for a while so she is already familiar with our Studio and our vibe 🤩
As a teacher she loves to focus on building strength and confidence to help her students reach their goals 💯

As you can see, she is an amazing pole photographer from Poland who already visited us this year capturing the most beautiful pictures (you can find some in our feed 😍)

There are very limited spots to shoot (only 14!) that’s why we definitely recommend to book yours asap as last time many girls couldn’t make it for wanting to subscribe too close to the date when everything was fully booked.

You don't need to be an advanced pole dancer to make your dream pole pictures come true, there are beautiful poses for all levels, and of course, we will have the time to practice them 💯
