OPEN INVITATION
For Antwerp Art Weekend 2024, SECONDroom joins forces with artist Guillaume Clermont, who realized a new participatory and in situ installation entitled Attempt of Rescue (Warehouse III).
The artist invites you to complete this installation by abandoning an item or object in one of his Fontaines.
If you are interested to participate, we invite you to bring your small  (5cm x 5cm x 5cm) object to exhibition opening, starting on Thursday, May 16, between 12 and 9 pm. Although it will be possible to bring objects for the whole duration of the exhibition, only a limited number of objects will fit into the installation, so come early!
 
 
The chosen item or object should be related to meaningful memories to you, of something or someone. Paradoxically, the abandonment of the object will be an attempt to rescue the memories it embodies.
 
The objects abandoned in the installation will form afterwards — all together — a collection after the end of the exhibition.
 
About the artist:
 
Guillaume Clermont (1983, Montréal, Canada) is an artist whose practice relates to notions such as repetition, abandonment, self-sabotage and the improbable. For several years, he has developed different art initiatives with the aim of distributing art which can be as autonomous and original, as it is collective. He is a member of la Guilde des artistes and of the collective E IL TOPO.
