Acid is the name, heavy metal is our game
In the early 1980’s, Acid were pioneers of speed metal and female-fronted metal, long before these terms existed.
Hit and run: that pretty much sums up Acid’s career. Over the course of just three years, the band from Bruges, Belgium unleashed three albums filled with relentless heavy metal and double bass drum attacks. Much to the delight of the headbanging legions that wanted their metal fast and loud, Acid shared the stage with illustrious names such as Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Venom and many others.
And then in 1986, unexpectedly, it was all over. Throughout the decades that followed, Acid’s original take on merciless metal with female vocals was never forgotten.
As Acid’s albums were re-released several times and bootleg merchandise remained in high demand, it became clear that Acid made a lasting mark on the metal scène.
