On 15 October at 14:00, ECSA’s next panel will be organised at the World Soundtrack Awards Film Music Days (Film Fest Gent) in Ghent, Belgium.

During the panel, Jesper Hansen (BFM, ECSA), Barbara Persyn (Strike A Score), Michelino Bisceglia (composer), Jozefien Vanherpe (KU Leuven), and moderator Anselm Kreuzer (Composers Club e.V., ECSA) will focus on the many questions about that the rise of services for music generation raises for film and audiovisual composers. Moreover, the panellists will look at the bigger picture and discuss what you can do as a composer to better protect yourself and your rights.

Richard Gadd's 'Baby Reindeer' - one of Netflix' most anticipated series - drops this Thursday 11 April, with a highly original score by Evgueni Galperine & Sacha Galperine: "All this combines to create an uneasy, tense atmosphere, compounded by the jittery string music that permeates almost every frame, and which ratchets even higher with every episode. Gadd has certainly done something fascinating with Baby Reindeer, however much of a tough watch it may be."

The film follows a family of Syrian refugees, an English teacher from Afganistan and a border guard. They all meet on the Polish-Belarusian border during the most recent humanitarian crisis in Belarus.

'It's a great honor to collaborate with Agnieszka Holland on this strong and committed film. Agnieszka wanted the music to remain sober, not to highlight any suffering or violence, so we approached the music in a rather symbolic way. It was placed in a more distant narrative space, observing. I imagined a melodic motif coming from the forest played by a cello accompanied by a group of 30 strings punctuating a series of repetitive chords....as if this tragedy had to constantly replay itself in front of us.'

Now in 🇩🇪 theatres, in 🇫🇷 & 🇧🇪 theaters on 7 Feb, in 🇳🇱 theaters 18 April, in 🇪🇸 & 🇬🇧 theaters 7 June.
