DRAWING COMPETITION - Door project with hardware ⚜️✏️
After our visit to the magnificent van Cronenburg (@van_cronenburg.peter) workshops in Ghent Saturday November 26th, the TRA, in cooperation with the architectural hardware company, is pleased to announce that our competitions and calls for projects are resuming today!
To end this year 2022 well, the TRA invites you to imagine a door project celebrating the art of architectural hardware and fine woodwork. Send us before January 12th, 2023 at midnight, a door project detailing its hardware (for example a rim lock, a crémone bolt, a door knob with escutcheon, hinges, a door knocker, a door handle, a key, ...) and woodwork. Each project has to reflect the architectural traditions of the participant’s country through its materials, the implemented techniques, its ornamentation or other details.
A VOTE will be held on January 14th, 2023 on Facebook and Instagram and the three winning projects will win the following prizes:
The first prize will be offered an exceptional gift by the company van Cronenburg: a Bongo bon for a two-day (1 night) stay at a castle for 2 persons with a sumptuous dinner at a Michelin star restaurant. The winner can choose their desired destination from a wide array of locations in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and France.
The first, second and third prizes are all awarded a box containing three books on craftsmanship and construction.
All participants will be granted a tour of the van Cronenburg company and a tour of Bruges with the TRA on request (if they ever come to Belgium) and in addition to the previous, the winners will be granted exclusive access to the woodwork drawings of Peter van Cronenburg, co-founder of the van Cronenburg company.
All the projects will be exhibited in 2023 in the cities of Bruges and Ghent, during the second edition of the architecture exhibition L'ARCHE, alongside works by van Cronenburg and dozens of other craftsmen fro

Le premier prix de l'appel à projets pour la transformation de la tour du Sablon est attribué au projet réalisé par @mimarhamouie (bureau d'architecte au Liban) Nous remercions tous les participants pour les merveilleux projets qu'ils ont réalisés bénévolement pour l'association. Ps: La TRA réalise un livre (FR/NL/EN) qui reprend tous les projets d'architecture réalisés en 2021 dans les villes de Bruxelles, Liège, Nivelles, Gand et Anvers.
