BCW organises happy hours, workshops, conferences, latte art competitions 🏆, all by and for coffee enthusiasts and coffee lovers. This year, Martino participated in a workshop about video editing and social media @Barkboy.be coffee bar. What do you think about this design for our next collection? ☕🌴🌿 I was inspired by our travels to Guadeloupe 🌴, the intense moments and emotions with our family on Malendure beach 🏝️ and our first encounters with sea turtles 🐢 in the Caribbean sea. Bialetti Moka Express: The iconic and legendary Italian coffeemaker, since 1933 🇮🇹 ☕ For this brewing method we used the Bialetti 3 Cup - 130ml/4.4oz and an amazing Myanmar omniroast microlot single origin coffee from @etnaroaster, freshly roasted on the vulcanic slopes of Mount Etna, Sicily. 🌋 It looks and sounds easy to brew coffee with the Moka Express at first instance, but when you want to make a perfect specialty coffee, you need to know quite some things to get it done well. 🤓 • Pour your water into the Moka boiler until it reaches the safety valve. It's about 140ml. 💦 • Starting with room temperature water and heat it directly on the fire works, but pre heating it first to 85 degrees gives you the best start for your brew. 🔥 • We use a 1/11 coffee/water ratio : Freshly grind your 12.7 gr beans between an espresso and a filter grind (We used grind setting 9 on a Baratza Encore). • Fill the Moka funnel without pressing down on the coffee, place it on the Moka and close the coffee maker leaving the lid open. You might want to use an aeropress filter to avoid any grind going through and optimise the pressure for your brew. But without works fine as well. • Put the fire on the lowest level and take your time ⏳. It will give you the best constant pressure throughout your brew. Key and most difficult is to maintain the same amount of pressure pushing the water through your coffee. • ⚠️ Most important moment to see is when it starts sputtering 🫧 and you hear the gurgle, it means your coffee is ready. Immediately close the lid and take the Bialetti from the heat. Letting it sputter with too hot water will only burn your coffee. 💥🫣 • Your coffee is ready to be served in your FloTino cup.
