Wounded Words: Workshop with Rev. Diane Rollert, UUA ambassador to EUU, 29 May

We're very lucky to have Rev. Diane Rollert visiting to lead us in a workshop next week! Please join us on 29 May as we discuss language and how it reveals our personal spiritual journeys. We'll meet at Le Cercle des Voyageurs (in the Bibliothèque) from 5 to 7 p.m. and will stay for dinner afterwards (https://www.lecercledesvoyageurs.com/fr/, Rue des Grands Carmes 18, 1000 Brussels). We hope to see many of you there!

Bad Homburg can be reached by train from Brussels.

Note about rooms for the retreat:

The hostel has VERY few single rooms, so please consider sharing with one (or more) other people. If you don’t have a roommate/roommates in mind, we can help match you with a person/people who share your preferences!

While most/all of the meeting rooms are accessible without stairs, most of the sleeping accommodations are upstairs, and there is no elevator. If you have mobility challenges, please register early to secure an accessible room. Consult the retreat committee if you have questions.

We're excited to announce that for the first time since Covid the EUU fall retreat will be held in person, with virtual attendance also possible! Registration is now open!

Oasis Belgium, an organisation that one of our members has been very involved with, works with women in house brothels around Belgium, some of whom have been victims of trafficking, and it also has a mobile coffee bar for isolated elderly people in East Flanders. Oasis received an EUU (European Unitarian Universalists) Social Action grant in 2018, and BUUF regularly puts together holiday gift bags that are taken around to the house brothels. Oasis is now publishing an illustrated cookbook with recipes collected from their beneficiaries. It includes lots of Thai recipes and is available in English, French, and Dutch, for €11. All profits will directly fund Oasis Belgium’s mission to help the most marginalized find community, choice, and hope. If interested you can pre-order at https://oasisbe.com/recipe-book.
