Two weeks ago, 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 opened ... And a lot has happened since then! 🥰❤️‍🔥

🪐 A huge thank you to everyone for making these ten days of the festival even more extraordinary than usual, at 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘆, 𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗸, and for the very first time at 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶! Whether it's to our amazing public, our incredible volunteers, our dear partners, we only have one thing to say: 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨! 👏 Without you, none of this would be possible, but thankfully, it is! 🤩

After attending his first live jazz concert, Dai decides to change his life overnight. Hypnotized by this music he knows nothing about, the young student throws himself heart and soul into learning the saxophone and jazz becomes his new passion. Will he succeed in becoming a great musician?

It was another great day at the festival yesterday, with plenty of meetings and sold out cinemas! 🥰 In the morning, the team from 𝙄'𝙢 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙮 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙚 were with us for a nice 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 this Belgian co-production, while 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗵 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗶 did us the honour of presenting her latest film, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙣! And we rounded off the evening with music with the 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱! 🎼

What an honour it was to welcome 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘀 for the Work in Progress of his next film 𝙎𝙖𝙪𝙫𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨!, as well as a great part of the team that accompanied him on this wonderful adventure! 🥰 They were even accompanied by 𝗞𝗲́𝗿𝗶𝗮 and 𝗢𝘀𝗵𝗶, the baby monkey. 🦧

What day yesterday! 🔥 There were people everywhere at Flagey and Marni, whether it was with pitches from 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝘼𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙯-𝙫𝙤𝙪𝙨, the making of 𝙆𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙩 & 𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙧, the work in progress of 𝙎𝙖𝙪𝙫𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨! or the presentation of 𝙎𝙞𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙘𝙤 𝙚𝙩 𝙡𝙚 𝙍𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙪𝙢𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙙'𝙖𝙞𝙧 by Pablo Pico! 👏

🖍️ You could also show off your artistic talents at 𝘿𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙠 & 𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙬 as well as at the 𝘼𝙙𝙪𝙡𝙩 𝙎𝙬𝙞𝙢: 𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙠 and 𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙮 screening where a drawing competition was organised with great goodies to win! 🥰

Raoul Servais passed away earlier this year. He was the perfect ambassador for Belgian animated cinema, what with his awards from the most prestigious festivals, his impeccable trilingualism, and the inspiration he drew from painters such as Magritte and Delvaux. Beyond the usual clichés, rediscover an imaginative, multifaceted artist and his timeless films through the eyes of one of the most renowned specialists on his work, Philippe Moins.

Yesterday was all about Belgian animation! 🇧🇪 Belgian talent was out in force for the 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 and screenings of the first three 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙣 programmes! We ended the evening on a high with a nice drink and a little party to celebrate 𝗭𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹's 30th birthday! 🎉🥳

Yesterday, day six, Anima was still in full swing! 🔥

✨ The day kicked off with the very interesting 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚: 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙩, and the 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝘿𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘 & 𝘼𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣!
👋𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗻 returned to the stage for the 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨, while 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗷𝗮𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗶 and the directors of 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 & 𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 introduced the programme with a great discussion on music films and clips!
🌳 At Marni, 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘀, Mayor of Ixelles, was on hand to announce the screening of 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙣 𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙨!

Half way through the Festival and we ended on a very positive note! 🥰

🎨 A very big thank you to 𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗻, director of 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨, for being with us and bringing with him two of the paintings used to animate the film! His Excellency Polish Ambassador in Belgium and the Polish Institute Brussels were also there to launch the screening of this wonderful film! 🇵🇱

🦸‍♀️ The 𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 programme was also a big hit at the Marni! Thanks to the 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 festival for hosting the screening and the 𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨! In Flagey, it was party time again with guests from 𝘽𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝟮 and 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝟯!
