Hurting shoulders when doing presses?
Chances are you need a better connection to your pecs. Let’s bring in some isometrics!
Grab a medicine ball, lay down, and hold it on top. Make sure that you make wrists so you have to squeeze harder.
More squeezing = more tension in your pecs!
Try this:
* 1-minute hold - 30 seconds rest
* 45-second hold - 15 seconds rest
* 30-second hold
Simply add these to your warm-up routine and enjoy a great pec pump!

Whenever I have a deadlift or squat session, these exercises are key.
Building that neural connection with the lower abs, external obliques and the psoas major is crucial. Can’t believe how I was able to move without any awareness of these muscles for years.

Exactly 1 week ago we had our last drips of sweat and our last grunts at our old place.
Which started as some functional training classes on the side, grew into something much bigger.
Thankful to my parents for letting me do my thing at the beautiful place where I grew up.
Thankful to the people that joined the classes and the many of you that are actually following me to Ghent (you guys are the OG’s!).
Thankful to my girl that not only stood by my side, but also helped me on so many things in the background.
Now that the gym is fully installed, you may expect more info on introduction classes and more really soon.

Then let’s do it!
Ga naar Spotify en zoek het nummer Lovely Day van Bill Withers.
Start het nummer en neem plaats in de squat positie. Heupen naar achter, buig door de knieën, voeten plat op de grond.
En blijf daar zitten.
Tot wanneer je “Lovely” hoort, sta dan snel recht om daarna terug in de squat positie plaats te nemen.
That’s it folks.
Heel het nummer blijf je zitten in de squat, hoor je het woord “Lovely” dan is dat het teken dat je snel eens mag rechtstaan om dan terug neer te dalen in je squat.
Dit wordt heel snel zeer interessant.

Tijdens Stijn zijn intensieve trainingen naar zijn tweede match (Muay Thai) kampte hij opeens met enorme last in zijn schouders. Spanning in de mid- en uppertrap trokken zodanig door dat er zelfs dagenlange hoofdpijn mee gepaard ging.
De eye-test die je hier op de foto ziet, liet direct zien waar de structurele issues vandaan kwamen.
De heup-positie verraadt een zwakte naar de obliques en psoas toe.
Qua bovenlichaam werd het snel duidelijk dat we werk moesten maken van de lats en borstspieren.
Op korte tijd slaagde Stijn er in van een sterke connectie te creëren met deze bewuste spieren.
Nu de neural output er is, is het kwestie van herhaling en oefening om deze sterker te krijgen.
Keep an eye on this guy.
