Bach Concerts Ghent

On Saturday, October 19, 2024, Bach Concerts Ghent will celebrate its 50th concert! Paul De Maeyer (on the organ) and the choir Capella Beatae Mariae ad Lacum (the "CBM choir") under the direction of Rachel Perfecto will give their very best for this special occasion with an all-Bach program. Following the concert, all attendees are warmly invited to a reception.

This Saturday's Bach Concert will be performed by Benjamin-Joseph Steens, the titular organist of the Basilica Saint-Remi in Rheims, France. He'll be performing selections from Bach's Art of Fugue, BWV 1080.

We are happy to welcome organist Peter Holder to perform in our concert series on Saturday, August 17!

Peter Holder has held the post of Sub Organist at Westminster Abbey since 2017. He is the principal organist for the Abbey’s daily services and at state occasions, and accompanies the Abbey Choir in its concerts, recordings and broadcasts.

After a relaxing summer holiday, the Bach Concerts are back! This time with French organist David Cassan.

In addition to performing some of Bach's major organ works like the Trio Sonata in E minor, Cassan will conclude his program by improvising a chorale partita in the style of J.S. Bach!

The concert starts tomorrow at 5 p.m. in Ghent's St. Nicholas Church. Hope to see you there!
