Oude bibliotheek wordt opnieuw Mexicaanse cantina: “Probeer zeker onze ceviche met burrata” Fan van de Mexicaanse keuken? Dan ben je in Mexcalli in de oude bibliotheek aan het juiste adres. Anissa All, Jef Driesen en Dennis Holderbeke zorgen er enkele maanden lang voor heerlijke cocktails en gerechtjes, zoals zelfgemaakte nachos met pulled beef, in een kleurrijke setting.

You can always choose for our Chef’s Table: several sharing plates, salsas and sides are selected by our chef, spread out over several courses. Perfect for those who can’t choose or love to be surprised!

🛢Reposado , homemade pear syrup, fresh lime and club soda, topped with a pear-lime espuma

Have you tried our aguachile yet?

Aguachile is a typical seafood dish from North Mexico: fish is marinated in a dressing of green chilies, lime, onion and cilantro.

Our version is made with a carpaccio of scallops with a pimped version of the chili dressing with cucumber and champagne.

Yes. It tastes like it sounds: a party in your mouth 😋

Visit to Peleton de la Muerte& La Lleyenda 🥰

These palenques make artisanal mezcal. Here the process is also very small scale but machines are used. Don’t think that this means it’s industrial:
🐴With machine we mean a tahona (picture 1 and 2) and a horse to mash the agaves. ⚗️The fermented juice (picture 5)is distilled in copper pots (picture 8) here.
