ZINE ZINE #5
is een magazine gemaakt voor en door bewoners van de Nieuwe Wandeling.

Samen met printatelier Topo Copy en De Rode Antraciet organiseert SMAK, het museum voor Hedendaagse kunst in Gent, een traject met workshops in de gevangenis van Gent waarin kunstenaars en gedetineerden samen publicaties maken die in en buiten de gevangenis worden verspreid.

Vertrekpunt voor deze editie waren de 'briefschilderijen' van de Belgische schilder Joseph Willaert, die in 1973 een reeks brieven uit verschillende conversaties op groot formaat schilderde.

Wat een project rond schoonschrift zou worden evolueerde tot een verhalende briefwisseling tussen 10 gedetineerden en evenveel onbekenden van buiten de gevangenis. Elk van hen stuurde en kreeg 4 brieven.

We bedanken graag alle deelnemers,
speciale dank aan Godart Bakkers.
