This release brings a new integration with the LockitScript solution from LockitNetwork - a powerful tool for gathering and inputting key content metadata from the set of a production - as well as an improvement to how we already integrate with Avid MediaComposer. August is feeling particularly green this year! We’ve been doing some hard work on our carbon footprint - exciting news to follow soon - and we’re also thrilled to have been shortlisted for the Net Zero Innovation Award category of the Corporate Star Awards 2024.

We’ve always taken sustainability very seriously so it’s extremely pleasing to be announced as a finalist.

Interesting news this week from the US, where the Federal Communications Commission has ordered the manufacturers of any device designed to receive/play video with sound to give viewers greater control over the display and format of closed captions (see TV Tech for more: https://www.tvtechnology.com/news/fcc-adopts-rando-to-make-closed-captioning-settings-easy-to-access).

Accessibility is a hugely important issue and we’ve worked with a number of different broadcasters to help them improve the reach and visibility of their content by improving the process by which subtitles are produced. A simplified workflow (based on Speechmatics’ speech recognition and Limecraft’s AI spotting) helped SVT in Sweden to provide subtitling for over 95% of the online and on-demand content on their ‘SVT Play’ platform. Team Limecraft believes that helping our customers tackle their production challenges is a serious business. That said, life shouldn’t be all work and no play, and so yesterday we all headed out of the office for our first ever midsummer party. We picnicked, enjoyed some fun sessions designed to help us understand our customers better, indulged in a bit of ‘Scientists vs. Zombies’ escape room mental gymnastics, then rounded off the day with a sunny outdoor dinner in Ghent.

We’re back at the coal-face today, but it was great for colleagues old and new to spend time together, strengthening existing bonds and forging new ones!

We’re making some significant improvements to our subtitling fabric, enabling advanced processing of subtitles with the single press of a button. From snapping subtitles to shot changes to managing subtitle colours by speaker, 24.3 puts powerful new features at your fingertips including the ability to adjust imported subtitles for different framerates and timecodes. 👀

We’re also adding in support for new subtitling formats, as well as enhancing the Delivery Workspace - our solution for more robust and stress-free content supply chain management.
