Did you know that this photogenic comfort food from Japan, is reheatable in the oven? If you don’t feel like walking around in the snow while holding your taiyaki waffle with freezing hands, we’re happy to wrap your waffle so you can enjoy your order at home 💛
Here’s how to enjoy your comfort food at home:
🐡Put your taiyaki waffle in the oven and reheat at around 150-180° for about 3 mins
🐡Watch your fav show under a cozy blanket (did someone say ? 👀) while enjoying your warm delicious taiyaki waffles. Netflix & ice cream? Netflix and taiyaki it is! 🤩

Lok and Andrew, the owners of Whisk Eight, lived in Hong Kong for 8 years where they spent lots of time doing food research. One of their fav bubble waffle shop was indeed the famous one in North Point! 🤩👌Our bubble waffles are always freshly baked & wrapped in a paper bag, just like how bubble waffles are traditionally served in Hong Kong!

Did you know the way you eat your taiyaki waffle says a lot about your personality? Are you a head first or a tail first? 😏
👉 Little tip: Sneak a little peek first before your next visit. Even when it’s not going to be your first bite ever! We’ll pretend we didn’t know you cheated 🤫

“So what’s the difference between a sandwich waffle and a traditional Belgian waffle?” A question we get asked a lot.
🧇 Just like traditional waffles, sandwich waffles are made of flour, eggs, white sugar & milk.
🧇 Even though the ingredients are similar, this HK style waffle is larger, round shaped and softer.
🧇 At Whisk Eight, it is served hot and folded in half in paper bag, just like how it is traditionally served in HK.
⭐️BONUS: instead of butter, we use vegetable oil 🙌

So who was the first to come up with the idea of baking fish-shaped waffles? Legend says, a creative baker from Tokyo who had the idea of pimping his cylindrical shaped cakes with red bean filling and turned them into sea bream-shaped waffles. This sea bream fish is known as the “good luck fish” in Japanese culture and commonly served to celebrate special occasions. Bingo, a popular Japanese dessert is born! 🤩
Fast forward to this Instagram era. These photogenic waffles are becoming more and more popular not only around the globe, but also on the gram: is a good excuse to go crazy on these fish-shaped waffles!
