Energy IT expert Cogenius stopped by for lunch to present their integrated cloud-native platform.

TAG keeps its consultants up to date on the latest software tools by inviting IT experts to present their most recent innovations. All while eating some delicious sandwiches. 🥪

This time, it was Cogenius’ turn. They explained their software-as-a-service approach and two tools that exemplify it:
• 𝗘𝘅𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲𝟲: Congenius’ market connector tool for energy suppliers and Business Responsible Parties
• 𝗟𝘆𝗻𝘅: their cloud-native platform that can support all processes for energy suppliers

Staying up to date this way allows us to more accurately offer tooling advice and support clients who are already familiar with these platforms. 💪

It’s Friday! The perfect day to look back on what has become a standard within TAG over the years: our Fridays at the Office. 🥳

Back in prehistoric times, our consultants used to always work at our clients’ locations. The only exception? Our monthly FATO, when consultants would come to the office on a Friday to work, bond and lunch together.🍴

After COVID, even though remote work became an option, our FATOs stuck around. And that’s no surprise: it’s a great way to stay connected with the TAG team, meet colleagues who are working on other projects and kick off the weekend. 😎 With our new office in Mechelen, we even introduced FAMOs: Fridays at the Mechelen Office.

TAG consultant Jan Van Proeyen gave his colleagues a training on API integration so they can help configure APIs for our clients and allow smooth data exchange between systems and servers.

Knowledge sharing is a key part of our office culture. We frequently organise trainings for our consultants to gain industry updates or crucial insights, which they can then apply for our clients. 🤝

This time, Jan gave colleagues a crash course on understanding the syntax of an API and the use of HTTPs in transmitting data. Our consultants finished the training with a practical exercise, because experience is the best teacher.

Our self-developed platform Nimbus will also benefit from this training, as these insights will be used to further improve our tool. 🔧

Because we’re celebrating TAG’s tenth anniversary with the team in June, we held our TAG Day for Q2 a little earlier. And what a beautiful day it was!

On the programme? A quarterly update by our directors during lunch, followed by an exciting golf initiation and some appetizers to close off the evening. We lucked out with the weather too! After days of rainfall, our consultants could recharge their batteries in the sun. Thanks to the TAGtivity team for another top-notch edition. 👏

Over the past few months, our consultants have made time for a special appointment: donating plasma.

In partnership with Voka - Vlaams Netwerk van Ondernemingen , Rode Kruis-Vlaanderen launched an initiative to encourage plasma donation within companies, and TAG gladly participated. Our consultants donated en masse, with 40 donations from our team of 55. Proud of our TAG team! 💪

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 💪
Consultants at TAG looking to advance their careers can take the next step as team managers, starting with an apprenticeship, a one-year period in which they can try out the responsibilities of a team manager on the job.

What are those responsibilities? Our team managers support consultants on their projects, but also help TAG grow as whole by strengthening the recruitment team and spotting sales opportunities.

Consultant Lies van den Broeck started the apprenticeship this year: “I love people management but was unsure whether other responsibilities would appeal to me. The great thing about the apprenticeship is that it gradually introduces you to the different facets of the role and that you can assess for yourself after a year whether you want to take it up.”

Throughout the apprenticeship, she is coached by team managers such as Martin Camerman: “I did the apprenticeship last year, so I fully understand the questions or doubts you can have. I’m glad I can share my experience and help others grow into the role.”

By the end of this year, apprentices like Lies will be fully prepared to support their colleagues as team managers. 🤝

𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗦 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 ⚙️
At TAG, we always consider tactically what tool best fits a project. To stay familiar with the latest software developments, we regularly organise a Lunch & Learn: a top-notch training from outside experts combined with a delicious lunch. 🍴

This time, our consultants delved into MECOMS 365 during a training by software developer Ferranti – an adaptable tool with which we can streamline the business processes of energy providers, grid operators and other key players in the energy market. ⚡

We’re looking forward to putting the knowledge we have gained into practice! 💪

𝗧𝗔𝗚 𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀! 🏃 🏁

Our consultants usually go the extra mile for their clients. But can they make 10 miles? They took on that challenge last Sunday in Antwerp.

For some, it’s a sports goal you work towards for months; for TAG, it’s an ambitious teambuilding event: running 16 kilometres. After weeks of warming up thighs and gulping down sports drinks, our consultants were finally ready to run the challenge. And sure thing: they did it! As one team, they crossed the finish. Proud of these champions. 🥇

We closed off Q1 with a TAG Day for our consultants: an opportunity to come to the office, gain new skills and have fun afterwards.

We organise a TAG Day every quarter, combining exciting learning experiences with awesome team building. In the morning, our consultants had a training on agile leadership, learning how to manage teams in an agile way and create an environment that allows teams to be self-organising. 💪 Afterwards, they spent the rest of the workday on client projects to maintain those quality results.

In the evening, it was time for pizza and team building. Our consultants travelled to Brussels to compete against each other in high-end immersive games at Koezio Brussels—the perfect opportunity to strengthen team bonds and grow new rivalries. 😈

Last weekend, Guy Theunis expanded the Scrum knowledge of our consultants and freelancers with a training weekend.

QRP Belgium organised a Professional Scrum Product Owner training for consultants with at least one year of experience at TAG and freelancers. Jorden Vandeweyer testifies:

“As a freelancer at TAG, I can count on TAG to select top-quality courses. This time was no different. It was a particularly instructive training that broadened our Scrum knowledge and allowed us to exchange practical experiences.”

Different from other trainings given at TAG, this was an intensive two-day course with a final exam to follow. If all goes well, the participating consultants and freelancers will soon be certified Scrum Product Owners. 🎓

TAG offered guidance to students in this year’s first case workshop of the Consultancy Advanced track by AFC. The focus: consultancy cases for the energy sector. ⚡

After a theoretical introduction, students tackled a case in small groups. The topic: the Customer Lifetime Value from the point of view of energy providers. All of this under the guidance of TAG consultants. At the end, students had the opportunity to connect with TAG during an informal reception. 🥂

Why apply to TAG?

Last week we organised the workshop “crack a case” in cooperation with AFC Leuven. During the online event we introduced 27 motivated students to a case-solving exercise. All teams of 5 students were coached by one TAG-colleague. They solved the case about the Belgian energy market and pitched their ideas. We finished with a small online reception with our own TAG-beer, which was delivered to the participating students.
